I have seen some compare Clausen to Aikman...

There's a lot of great quarterbacks already at home watching the rest of the playoffs

I'm for a good qb with great tools all around him.Just think about all of the greats then

look at who their recievers were ,Some of those guys would catch anything close .then the qb would get credit for putting the ball where no one could catch it but his guy.

GO GREEN

im not waiting 3 years for clausen to be a good QB plus we dont have emmit smith and michael irvin

Yeah, neither did Aikman. At least we have a WRs and HBs already in place.

You do know this isn't Madden and you can't just play a season in a few days get to the offseason and add some progression points to the players, right? It takes time, nothing really changes over night in the real world.

The difference is Aikman was a number one pick who was in a different league to Clausen in terms of physical talent. He obviously needed time to mature. Jimmy was sold as a high floor/low ceiling type of QB who was pro-ready. Also it is ridiculous to compare different era's like that. The NFL is built for QB's to have success nowadays.

Yes he did. Nearly 25% of his entire years passing yardage came against the cardinals in one game. Which means the other 10 games he flat out sucked. 2 of his 9 TD's that season came in that game as well.

My point is, a rookie throwing for 300+ yards is flashing potential greatness... didn't see Clausen do that at any point this year.

I don't see how you can judge anybody that was coached by the previous regime. If we had a coach who, with our running game, knew how to use play-action, or the correct way to use a tight end, we might have a good QB already.

Thank you. I have said many times I have thought Clausen was hype, but I listened to Rivera and what he said and I went back and looked at some things on what tape is out there. The #1 issue I have with Clausen is his shitty attitude, but I think he got a knot yanked in his ass and an attitude adjustment with the way the season went. I personally think him sucking and getting his ass torn up on the field, in the locker room, by fans and media are exactly what he needed.

Now the kid realizes 'Hey this isn't HS or ND where people just kiss my ass because of my name'. The NFL stands for 'Not for long' if you don't get your poo together.

That said, does he have good tools to develop? Yes. Honestly he needs to SIT and be coached up for a couple seasons, EARN his team mates trust and respect then go get it. I am not ready to give up on him yet and it seems Rivera is not going to yet either.

If he is determined to be the best QB through competition on the team, yeah. But most likely Moore or another QB will start.

Brother I really feel we need to bring in a Vet and let Clausen sit for 2-3 years. There was a time when draft picks didn't see the field for 3-5 years and Rivera even addressed that. Hey some guys like Bradford, Manning etal can hit the field running, but how many times have we seen a guy with some talent get ruined by being thrown in too soon?

I also think its just best for the team and the fans to bring in a guy that can get some things done now and get this team back to being respectable sooner than later.

no one can base the rest of Clausen's career on this past year.. you're just a jackass making assumptions..

doesn't mean Clausen won't be a career backup, but this year says nothing..

Aaron Rodgers looked like poo his first year.. most QBs do.
