I have seen some compare Clausen to Aikman...

Unbelieveable. Thread after thread about how Clausen is going to be our QB and how he didn't get a fair shake this past year. How many losses and lousy games does it take to see that Clausen is certainly not the answer.

If you pro-Clausen posters keep on this rant, I am going to start posting my StartArmanti campaign. At least he can throw the ball and make a decision and avoid the rush.

Grown ups and intelligent people can agree that Clausen should not have done "well" given his situation. We can also look deeper into his play and ask, given his situation, what should we have seen?

I'm not sure what is so magical about next season being when we can label Clausen a bust but i can't wait so we can move on and you folks can take his rod out of your throat.

A. I am far more grown up than your pansy a$$ is. I, unlike you, evaluate the ENTIRE problem and not just one individual. This make my evaluation process far superior than yours.

B. When you get the ROD out of your A$$ and evaluate the entire situation instead of your blantant hatred for Clausen. You will see that not all can be blamed on your target Clausen.

While he had many many instances where he looked lost he had a few where he showed promise. MY POINT is that there are far too many other variables with the 2010 Panthers to say Clausen is a bust.

I believe with a staff that gives a damn and a couple more tools you will see a different Clausen in 2011. But you continue to hate and just maybe before we all turn old and grey we will get a QB that will satify your Madden 2011 childish attitude.

But since I know you will continue to blab your childish mouth. I will go ahead and DISMISS YOU NOW!!!!

YOU ARE DISMISSED YOU CHILDISH PUNK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

whats the point?

Here's how it will go. I will post a youtube link of Armanti making nice progessions and throws and you + others will comment on how that is against "division II". Then this thread will turn into a hatefest over a player who in the times he had seen the field he didn't fail miserably.

Why does it seem like those who are calling Clausen a bust *want* him to be a bust?

I'm curious about something else too. I've looked over Clausen's stats and Aikman's, and there are a lot of similarities. They were both up and down, Aikman threw more TDs but threw way more INTs and did so at a higher rate, and Aikman averaged two more attempts and about 30 more yards a game in games where they played the entire game. Aikman also averaged a half yard per attempt more than Clausen. They were both equal as far as accuracy is concerned.

Now, I'm NOT saying Clausen will become another Aikman. But he may develop into something good--obviously it's happened before. What I AM saying is that history shows us it's probably premature to give up on a player based on a bad rookie season.

And I have a question for the board. When I was looking at Clausen's stats in comparison to Aikman's, what jumped out is how consistent Clausen was. Aikman was hot or cold, and although Clausen had the best game out of both QBs, Aikman had more "good" games than Clausen (and way more God-awful bad ones). Clausen just looked more consistent.

When you put the whole consistent thing together with the production (or lack, depending on whether you're a hater or not), and then compare Jimmy Johnson and John Fox, does it make any sense to pin some of the production on the coaching staff? What was emphasized to Jimmy? Was he told to take chances, or to throw the ball away at the first sign of trouble? And if he was, do you think his stats would be worse or better if he had been given a little more freedom?

Another comparison could be Terry Bradshaw

He started 8 games as a rookie, played in 13

Only had a 38 % completion rate, threw 24 interceptions, and had a QB rating of 30.4! I bet they were glad that they never gave up on him.

I'm not advocating starting Clausen next year, but bringing in a new coaching staff that actually develops young talent unlike Fox/Davidson, could salvage his career and the Panthers future.

Clausen didn't have the up and down play. Clausen was just consistantly the same unproductive QB every single Sunday. He had a day where he racked up some yardage moving the ball.....he never had a day where he got WRs into the endzone.

The play wasn't similar...Aikman showed some real positive in the mess. Clausen didn't.

Give it a rest, ok? We get it--you think he's a total bust and there's no need to keep repeating yourself in this thread. And if he turns out to be, goody for you for seeing it first.

Anyone who isn't so damned certain that they know more than an NFL coaching staff care to weigh in on my questions?

I'm no more repeatitive than the crowd claiming Clausen will be noticeably better next season.

I'm not sure if Clausen is a bust....he does have a lot working against him. Only thing I am saying is the kid has no business starting in the NFL come week 1 of next season. He needs to be put on the shelf. Kid is officially a project.....not just a rookie who had some rough games (like an Aikman).

Yes, I got that from your first seven or eight posts in this thread. You've made your point, do you have a problem with the people on the other side actually talking about it or do you plan to keep interjecting your "But he sucks!" opinion enough to prevent it?
