Honestly, this was my first reaction to the Clausen pick.

With Clausen I thought we finally had the balls to take a chance on a top QB. Not only that, but got a deal. Whether he pans out or not REAMINS TO BE SEEN, but if not, we only lost a second rounder and the team is used to chalking that loss up fairly often.

Some of you aren't doing this right, as Clausen and Armanti haven't proven you wrong as poor picks yet.

i dont understand how people think the Clausen pick was dumb?? in the draft, you draft best player and vaule and Clausen (in round 2) was a great value pick at the time, now LaFell over Shipley is more of a head scratcher because of how much more potential Shipley has over LaFell. That's why i chose that, when you can have a Wes Welker type of player in Shipley, you take that. As for Clausen, good pick at the time.

Not trying to brag, but I can't think of any draft picks I absolutely hated that wound up winning me over.

That's the one that got me at the time.

Hindsight being 20/20, I agree. But at the time I thought the others were good drafts. Biakabutuka was an absolute beast before injuries turned his legs into rubbermaid.

The Thomas Davis pick shocked me.

I thought he was replacing Minter.

Then they made him a LB to play QB spy on Vick.

Turned out to be a damn good player.

I never liked the Jarrett pick because he was another USC receiver and had no luck with Keary Colbert.

i liked the pick at the time, BUT i honestly wanted the OTHER USC reciever in Steve Smith so we could annoy announcers.

I hated the Pike pick...just made no sense

me too, that pick made little to no sense, why pick Tony Pike when you picked Clausen????

I don't know why so many people bag on the Jimmy pick.. especially since that entire off season most of the board was crying for us to draft a QB high in the draft.

Personally I loved the Clausen pick, and I think it's still yet to be seen what Clausen can do. If he had been in a better situation than having to play with 40 rookies on offense and a make shift line, think he would have done better. So i'm not ready to call Jimmy a bust yet.

i agree, i think some people are bagging on this pick because of what they saw last year. i liked the pick at the time and i will give it time, but even if he does bust, i think he was a good value pick as was Jarrett at the time (although i do admit i liked Steve Smith from USC better). I judge bad picks based on where you got them and what you passed on. I dont see how any team passes on Shipley for LaFell which they did. i know Shipley is shorter, but he would've made plays and would've made plays on punt returns.

Good one!! I was confused why we would draft a punt returner in the third round--from UTAH??? Then I remember he fumbled 3 times and cost us a game vs. Green Bay. I wanted us to cut him!! Double stoopid.

I wasn't pissed with Smitty at all, I thought he was a little high for a 'project' player. Did I know anything about him? No, but WR/KR didn't seem like too bad of an option. He was a third rounder also. I can't say I've been pissed over a third round pick...until this year.

A. Ellison pissed me off. There were a few other DTs on the board I wanted before him.

Wasn't Corvey Irvin a 3rd rounder? "What?" He was 5th to 7th on most boards.

I know this is about who you were pissed about and it turned out ok, and I know it's too early, but i was absolutely furious with the Clausen and Armanti picks. I have never been a fan of Clausen Kool-aid, and the armanti pick seemed like a stretch and like we gave up waaaaaaaaaay too much for.
