Long before a character named "The Fonze" made it seem cool to be a high school dropout.

Long before smart Alick kids ran the family, The Simpson's, Growing Pains and Family Ties.

Long before we had single moms, Alice & One Day at a Time.

Even long before we had a woman having a baby out of wedlock, Murphy Brown.

Long before we would "Leave it to Beaver".

We had a TV family with normal problems, where the kids went to their Mom & Dad for help.

"The Adventures of Ozzie & Harriet!" While never a top 10 show, it lasted from 1952 until 1966 on TV. Until it was eclipsed by "The Simpson's" in 2008, it was the longest running sitcom. In fact, it's still the longest running live sitcom. The show was a kind of "Cosby" for the 1950's thru mid-60's.

David Nelson passed this week. His brother, Ricky was a pop teen idol and would sing sometimes at the end of the show.
