Virginia UFL coach Jay Gruden could be headed to NFL

I think QB coach would be best. He played it in college and and professionally. From his bio, he came out of retirement to play QB again in AFL. He re-retired and went back to coaching. So he's played QB in the past 10 years and coached (offense & head caoch) in AFL, with a stint in the NFL. I think he sounds pretty well qualified.

How wierd will it be to have a WCO after 9-years of Fox. As bad as people poo-poo Siefert, our offense was potent with Beuerlein at the helm. Weinke and other bad personnel choices sealed George's fate in 2001.

Edit: From Panthers.com Stats

Passing Yards

Rank Player Year Att Cmp Yds TD Int Long Rtg

1. Steve Beuerlein 1999 571 343 4436 36 15 88t 94.6

2. Jake Delhomme 2004 533 310 3886 29 15 63 87.3

3. Steve Beuerlein 2000 533 324 3730 19 18 54 79.7

Two of three Panthers' passing yards records were under a WCO system. Just say'n....

I'm not convinced we will.

If Gruden were the OC maybe, but not Chudzinski.

Gruden may be interviewed for the OC, not likely, but there's a chance.

I just can't understand why it is so freaking unfathomable of a "defensive-minded head coach" to be so opposed to a more open (yes, higher risk) offesne. I'm not saying Rivera will be, but it seems to be the pattern. I gurauntee if Fox has a say in Denver, the WCO gets scrapped. Elway may trump Fox though.
