Time to face the facts, guys

yah uhm, I had to burst your bubble, but the running game materialized at the end of the year and did quite well through a 5 or so game stretch. the idea the entire offense was terrible is not accurate. It was not by any means great but we saw little improvement at QB despite o-line & rb improvements.

Now replace offense with passing game. 3 first time starters on the OLine, 2 rooks at wide out and a rook chucking the ball.

Yeah but look at the situation they were thrust into...bad OC, inexperienced WR's, it amazes me how alot of posts around here refuse to look at the offense as a WHOLE UNIT, and soley focus on the QB. It speaks volumes about the general lack of understanding in many of the posts I've read on this forum.

I agree with much of what you say. However, I did not seen anythign in Jimmy or Matt that gives me ANY comfort of entering the season with the same three QB's.

I thought we needed a vet last season....and I completely believe that we need one for this season.

We are not getting a franchise quarterback this year.

There are none available in the draft, in free agency, or via realistic trade. None :nonod:

Next year? Maybe. This year? No. The best thing we can do this year is find a reasonable stopgap. For me, that's Volek via free agency. I have no interest in reaching in the draft, taking a shot at a guy we hope might be a franchise guy (already did that last year) or giving up the kind of significant value it'd take to trade for a guy that could fit that role.

This is one problem for which there just isn't any solution available this season, so we are just going to have to be patient.

(yes, I know ahat I'm asking) :sosp:

not all franchise QBs are #1 overall picks.

some of the greatest current and all time QBs weren't drafted in the 1st or 2nd rounds.

We need QB more than anything else.....Clausen/Pike just don't see like the type guys you delay the neverending search for to see what happens w/ them. Both seem like they need way to much to happen in order for them to even be serviceable.

"Running game materialized at THE END of the year"

Yes it did But was a big part of why the offense Sucked at the first of the year

Couple that with rookie WR and Steve Smith doing a disapearing act all season

Couple that with a Swiss Cheese O- Line

Couple that with Davidson / Fox idea of a game plan

And I can see why its the QB's fault

Drafting another QB is not the answer

Clausen and his Rookie WR's also started geling toward end of season

Panthers need a Vet QB to compete and mentor

And while everone keeps calling to draft a Franchise QB

Buc's traded Steve Young B/C he was not a Franchise QB

Falcon's traded Favre B/C he was not a Franchise QB

Steeler's cut Johnny Unitas B/C he was not a Franchise QB

Chargers were going to cut/trade Drew Breese B/C he was not a franchise QB and draft Phillip Rivers

Kurt Warner was sent to Europe B/C he was not a franchise QB

Some times it takes more than a season or two for a franchise QB to develope

Well, that is just too much logic for us.

Rent a vet QB for a season or two. See if Jimmy (or Matt for that matter) can learn and develop.

Why do people keep saying that? Did Rivera say he's going to run the WCO and I missed it? I think McNabb is about washed up anyway.

i just called Mrs. McNabb and she said he's allowed to play in whatever type of offense he wants. so where are you getting this notion he isn't? he can make any throw and he would be an excellent stop gap.

he was doomed to fail in DC because DC is DC.
