I agree that I think the FO takes a look. How he does in the combine I think will determine his fate at top 10 to lower round imo.

The more I've paid attention to him, he reminds me of Roethlisberger. I was just thinking the other day, I don't know how many shows I've watched this season where they named their Top 5 QBs and Ben wasn't in the Top 5. Yet, I heard Matt Ryan's name multiple times. It's B.S. Ben has won 2 Superbowls and has been in the playoffs every year except one if I'm not mistaken.

So, yeah, if Cam falls in that "big, athletic, winning" QB, but not the Brady or Manning type... gimme that. Because all I need is a consistent winner. I see a lot of similarities with Ben in that sense, because so many people write him off for just being a big, strong, fast guy, but they overlook how much they win. I'd be happy with that, if he turns out to be like that. And for the record, I thought The Golden Calf of Bristol was going to be a fine NFL QB as well.

SN: And for the scouts saying they think Cam benefited from the spread and it made him look better than he was... Many of them also said Clausen was set up for the most success out of all rookies because he came form a pro style offense similar to the system we ran. WRONG.

If the guy can play football, he'll figure it out, it doesn't matter what system he comes from.

you dont' know that for SURE though, like i dont know for sure, so this is NOT the most retarded post you have read, what if i am right and the rookie cap doesnt take place until 2012????? anyways, EVEN if you HAVE a rookie cap, it STILL doesnt help the next rookie QB's confidence when drafted that the previous TWO QBs were given up on after a year.

Even with no rookie cap this year, there is an impending rookie cap that will help GMs negotiate.

If players don't want to sign for 30mil...they can hold out the whole year and maybe get 15 the next year.

They know this, GMs know this, agents know this.

Bingo. Newton to me is a bigger, faster, and stronger Ben. The interviews for this kid are going to be huge to me that is my only ? mark.

And most forget that Ben didn't play in a pro-style offense either. He took most of his snaps out of the gun. Hasn't hurt him much.

But Clausen did...

I had to watch Newton plow down the field against my Gamecock Def. Every time we'd stop his offense at a 3rd & whatever or 4th down (about 4 times per drive) he'd just put the weight on his shoulders and get the 1st; every single time and with an inferior offense.

Say what you want about this kid but he's got it.
