Kiper just made a good point on Mike & Mike

true 'nuff, but the likelihood Clausen ends up a HOFer is pretty remote... it's pretty clear Kiper was referring to Clausen with his comments considering how hard he was on hyping the guy.

I really hope Clausen makes me eat my words next year, I just wouldn't bet on it.

I don't buy into Clausen either, but I do believe he gets another shot.

Realistically, none of us knows how he'll respond to a QB coach not named Rip Scherer.

I think he gets a shot....by that I means I think he will obviously be on the roster and given time to develop. I don't see him having a realistic shot at starting next year. He was too bad for a team to try to ride him another season (being a rookie factored in).

Carolina will bring someone in. Jimmy really slowed the development of the rookie WRs by not being able to handle basics of the offense.

the franchise can't afford to do that. We should know a lot more about LaFell and Gettis than we currently do.

Clausen never threw one TD pass in a window once. He only had garbage TD's

every TD by a WR also was at the hands of a QB not named Clausen.

Steve Smith's issues aside, the fact he couldn't get him involved in a single game all season is scary.

I would start a thread, but I can't.....guess I'm too new or dumb or both....

Why even listen to draft analysts knowing that they receive kickbacks from agents? It's so easy for an analysts to say whoops and then cover their arse by saying, "oh well, BLANK didn't live up to expectations"

He even said that alot of HoFers had terrible rookie years and team need to let rookie QBs grown and lower expectations. \

Clausen falls into this give him time to grow. It takes 3 years before you know if a QB is a bust or not.

Agreed. Fans don't like it but I can tell you from Rivera's PC he has told Richardson he is going to give Clausen a chance to develop. I don't see a draft pick being added, but I do see a veteran brought in.

Rivera (not the whiny madden playing fans on here) was also right in Clausen was thrown in way too early, the talent around him was bad due to injuries and having to play other youth as well.

I am not a clausen fan due to his attitude, but from a football standpoint he deserves a chance to develop.

team wasn't dysfuntional. QB play was pathetic.

Find me another QB that was successful in his first year with questionable O-line play (as well as injuries), starting RB put on IR, two rookie receivers to go along with a pouty wide receiver that dropped half the balls thrown to him.

While I'm not convinced that Clausen will be any good, I'm certainly not stupid enough to dismiss him after those things mentioned above.

"Kiper" and "making a good point" are mutually exclusive terms and cannot be allowed in the same sentence.

He talks a lot, says little and couldn't prioritize an NFL team needs if the head coach himself told him. He'll put someone at #1 and then get pissy when Carolina doesn't take him.

Case in point. Bowers is the best player on the draft board and should go #1. But Carolina has more pressing needs and probably won't pick him overall #1. Watch what happens on draft day when this happens and Kiper will be on the air for another 3 hours complaining about the Panthers.

Sam Bradford

You can't say for a fact that Bradford had a better cast. Bradford had Jackson, but between Williams/Stewart/Goodson, at least one of them was performing well enough to count as a "starting RB". And beyond Jackson, he had nothing else.
