Hell, was anybody really "coached" this year?

J/k

Jimmy was put into the fire---and it was a big blazin' motherf**kin' fire---too soon. I don't know what part of this concept is hard to understand.

The concept that many of us are trying to get across is that even on a crappy team a QB with potential shows something.

You guys love to point out Aikman and his 1-11 season. But at the same time he had some very solid games even setting an NFL record one week. He threw way to many interceptions but put up some yards and had some good percentages. While nobody was saying this is a future hall of famer they certainly thought he could develop quickly.

Coaching or not, Clausen went up against a terrible Arizona team who game him single coverage all day and his stats were

13-19 141 1TD.

This was probably his best game of the season. It doesn't get any easier for an NFL QB than that.

So explain to me anything you saw from Clausen that suggests he is coachable in this league?

Clausen is not an NFL QB at all. No if's , and's and but's about it.

Twenty years from now some people would be saying that he wasn't given much of a chance. Fans should be more demanding than to even think of watching Clausen again. If his mother was the coach, she would not play him.

yeah, that would mean something if Jimmy was only inserted week 2-5 and then pulled for the season. Then you would have a point.

the fact remains, by the end of the season....there was no excuse for how sad Jimmy was. Decent team around him, had been working w/ the team as THE guy for weeks in practice and games.......

Moore was an udrafted rookie in 07 and did well coming in....there were a handful of rookie QBs who saw time this year and looked better than Jimmy that weren't given the job and prepped prior to week 1 for the role.

Yeap Colt McCoy says hi.

I am also on the Mcnabb wagon. Especially if your even toying with drafting Newton as he would be a great mentor. I think that is the best way to keep him on the straight and narrow. If anyone in the NFL can relate to Newton its McNabb.

So yoou don't feel that the shuffling that was occurring along the O-line, amoung the RB, and at the WR position would have any impact at all on a rookie QB who wasn't intended to start at all this year? mmk. I disagree.

Sure at the 1st of the season you could place blame on the Oline or the running game but as the season progressed that got better while Clausen did not. And besides I don't think anyone wants to cut him or anything they just don't want to make the mistake of not trying to improve at QB.

that isn't opinion....Clausen doesn't have the "ideal" attributes and physical traits people look for in a NFL QB. Height, size, hands, arm strength, throwing motion, release, etc.

From what Rivera said, he is gonna bring in competition. Unless they bring in a one armed man......Clausen ain't gonna win any competition. Most people think Moore was/is bad......and he looked light years ahead of Clausen in camp, practice and games per reports.

Clausen will be on the team. There is no reason to think he will realistically have a shot at starting week 1.

yeah...all of whats quoted is your opinion but you state it like fact.

Clausen showed zero glimpses.....and that has everything to do w/ Jimmy. On top of showing zero glimpses he lacks the basic physical attributes you want in a QB. Blame for that can't be put on a decent team around him and decent coach.....like so many like to do.

Zero glimses- thats your opinion I think Hurney feels different give him a chance with vet competition.

Basic physical attributes-once again your opinion he is 6'2 not the tallest for a NFL QB but tall enough.
