AJ Green or Nick Fairley

Fact #1.....we are NOT going to solve or come close to solving our QB problem this year. We will either rent a mid tier QB for a season or two or go into next yera with Moore/Clausen. Neither solves the problem.

Fact #2....Add a disruptive DT to our DE's of Johnson, Brown, and Brayton and the DLine is immensely better.

Fact #3....we have a stable of stud LB's.

Given the issue with QB, adding a rookie WR will NOT solve our offensive problems. Add a couple of pieces to the defense and have it be coached by Rivera and the defense could be nasty.

One option is to add a RG....add the defense pieces....and lean on a nasty defense and running game until we can find a QB.

For that reason, I think there is a slim to none chance that Green is the #1 pick.

This guy wins. Bleys FAIL. No decent DTs as FA if so they will be resigned or snatched up before we start doing our thing.

you can do all of that and still get Green.. and again I'll say, WR wasn't why we sucked last year.. for reasons mentioned already.. we need another one, whether draft or FA.. I think we're going to find that FA WR's will sign with their respective teams, and there are a few options for DT in FA..

and we can still lean on the running game with a stout defense... while adding a WR to replace the threat Smitty used to be..

I think what you laid out is most likely what will happen, if we don't trade down, but I'm pointing out why it would be smarter to take Green... (reason being you can add another threat and still accomplish what you've said; that threat is important for years to come on our offense)

Exactly. It's kinda comical to argue that supporting the selection of Green = claiming Green solves every problem. No one has said anything close to that.

i say take green on account of smitty getting old and i dont see gettis or lafell capable of becoming a #1 wr theat

to take a defensive player in the first we may as well have kept john fox

free agent wr's and in the draft suck compared to green, i would hate having to resort picking up vincent jackson, james jones etc

WTF?

In declaring himself eligible for the 2011 NFL draft today (Friday) Auburn DL Nick Fairley also made a point in saying he’d prefer not to play for any teams in cold weather cities.

When answering questions following his announcement, the Mobile, Alabama native said the following when asked if he has an NFL team he’d like to play for, “It doesn’t matter as long as it’s not cold.”

So he's already being a little diva b**ch and he hasn't even been drafted yet? What happened to his tough guy attitude? Screw this guy; I didn't want him before, but this comment makes me think he's soft.

Again, that "BUST" written on his forehead is getting more and more obvious all the time. I can't understand why so many Panther fans are all over this guy. Mark my words, he'll be a HUGE bust for whoever drafts him; I just hope it isn't us.

I can't say he'll be a bust but that diva shitt is not the way a top pick conducts himself usually they are humble and excited to be picked by whoever chooses them. Even if your not you atleast act like you are for pr purposes not a good start it makes me think, but his agent will probably have him retracting those statements pretty soon

Let me ask you this where would you rather live Florida or So Cal or somewhere like Buffalo or New York? I don't see a real problem with that comment really. If I could chose (and I wasn't a big fan of any NFL team) I would want to go somewhere seasonal as well.

But I don't want him at #1 anyway. This draft sucks it really does.
