Unless Sanders starts to slide and we get a call on draft night, I'm expecting to draft at #8.

Oh I am well aware. It's going to have to be an outlier team that really wants a player. But, because of the wide variance in the evaluations of some of the higher value positions, I do think it is possible to see some offers. Remember, we aren't the only dumb NFL team.

It surprised my as well when I saw how many times they met with him. At first I was thinking he was a trade down option but now I'm not so sure.

They are targeting a pass rusher but it must be in the 2nd round on day 2. I think day 1 it's Walker or Emmanwori at 8 as the 2 options. I haven't seen them show as much interest in any offensive players on day 1.

They are different types of safety apparently. Starks is more of a strong safety where Nick is a free safety according to DJ. I have not researched either to know enough either way.

Safety over DL with a top ten pick and a huge need for defensive linemen lines up with how David Tepper's Panthers have tried to build rosters.

Starks is a FS all day.  Coverage is his specialty from single high to nickel man.  Nick is high potential due to physical traits but give me the film guy all day.

Yeah, I am not sure I am buying that. Or that he is a definitively elite player. His ceiling is very high, without a doubt.

If Emmanwori  turns out to be a Troy Palumalu, Ed Reed, or Earl Thomas it would definitely be worth it. I know most teams don't consider Safety to be a premium position. But, when I look back at the the great defenses in the NFL over my lifetime, all of the them tend to have a difference maker at the Safety position, either as an Enforcer or a Ballhawk.
