LMAO at all the Broncos fans who think this is a good hire. It worked th first few years and then became painful to watch. Run middle, run middle_ pass and punt. I have been fighting to hold onto my boys and keep them Panther fans, they keep saying that they should switch to the Saints becase they are fun to watch and win. They still are Panther fans :) I wanted Fox gone for several seasons because I realized Henning and Davidson weren't the problem, but rather Fox and his philosophy to keep games close.

By the way how do you get permission to start threads?

Steelers are up there
steelers are actually pretty balanced. their run game is ranked 11th and their passing game is 14th. passing attemtps vs rushing attempts are pretty close to the same. they do what they have to to win, whether its run or pass and they do it when they want to.

They were the best team in 2007 as well. But the Giants ran the ball and played tough defense and won the game. Wouldn't be surprised if that happened again this year along the way.

Giants won with pressure on Brady, that's not the same as "stop the run" infact it's the opposite.

And they have the #1 defense.

I just don't get why people keep trying to convince me that QB is the be all end all to how you win in this league.

Based on those stats you just gave me, QB and passing is their weakest link.

Reinforcing the need for defense and that the game is won in the trenches. Some people earlier tried to argue that Eli was the reason they won. Somone even said it was because the way Eli perfectly placed the ball into the guy's facemask just to make sure he wouldn't drop it.

Some of us think it's just an area that needs major improvement... but you're right. You don't need to pass 40 times every game to win a football game. Balance is a major part of it, but so too is adaptability.

The thing with the Steelers is that Big Ben has shown time and time again that even if you do stop his running game he can burn you with his arm and his receivers. While you could say their "weak link" is their passing game, that is more reflective of the strength of their rushing attack I think.

remember that the steelers didn't have their qb for four games.

They did, and they kept winning games, but in only 1 game did their quarterback throw a touchdown (3 in one game, tho he played in 3).

Their offense in general was not scoring all that many points when Big Ben was out... only one game did they break 21 points, so when he was out, it was defense they were winning with.
