My Guess Who Rivera's FA QB Is Gonna Be....

Getting back on track...I think Boller may work out given he has the knowlegde, not too old and could legitimately start. I'm not saying the guy is going to come in and shatter records, but a stable veteran who happens to be a former first rounder is worth considering.

Jeff Tedford products pretty much never make it in the pros, though.

I think I read somewhere a long time ago (maybe 4-5 years) that his QBs often failed in the NFL because his system only taught them to read half the field. They never had progressions that were on different sides of the field so his QBs would just stare down one side then throw it away/run.

Other systems have reads on each side or down the middle based on safeties/linebackers/etc.

I'm sure people have figured out that's a flawed logic, especially in the pros.

He just got married to Ms California I believe so who knows where his head is at.

He would take away from the ugly stable of QBs I mentioned earlier and help bring some balance so he should be considered for that reason alone.

Boller & Moore > Clausen & Pike

I've grouped 4 players into two groups of who I'd like to see brought in. The first are the players that can still possibly become a 3-4 year starter a la Delhomme, Warner, etc.; and the second are the vet presence and 1-year starter/filler types:

1) Seneca Wallace, Gradkowski

2) Bulger, Volek

Basically, I'm thinking the additions that could be good are Bulger, Gradkowski, & Volek.

Imo, Gradkowski & Wallace could actually still develop into an above average QB and Bulger/Volek are as mentioned throughout the board for the Vet presence and maybe 1-Year starter potential.

Boller would just piss me off...I hated him in Baltimore. That guy won't throw the deep ball.

But why?

As a starter in Seattle he completely outplayed Hasselbeck and his career stats are all pretty solid.

People don't seem to like him but I have yet to hear why.

what? wow you are off!

Seneca is a career back up in my opinion...he just doesn't seem to get it!!! Name me a QB who constantly runs out of bounds ten yards behind the line of scrimmage with the ball in his hands? He's got decent speed, not much of an arm and he's way too short to play behind these big lines

Still better than Hasselbeck was. Won more games too.

Seems better than Volek (hasn't really played since '04 and is 34) or Gradkowksi who is injury prone.
