Something Rivera Said/Nick Fairley

Im sorry I was just not impressed with Fairley and it seems he benefits from a great Dline. He was handled last night by one guy on most plays and the only time he made a play was when he was left unblocked or the QB made a mistake. What I did notice was that he cost his team a 15 yards for no reason and also had poor tackling. From what I took from the bowl game is that he is very quick, has good closing speed, but dose not tackle well, lazy on run plays, and will cost you with his attitude.

the same one i saw. i thought i was the only one who noticed him being easily handled by a single lineman.

his ability to make plays relies on his ability to beat his man at the snap. as big as he is, he should be more physical. he rarely collapses the pocket. he's either in the backfield because he was faster than his man, or he get's stood up at the line. the latter happened more than the first.

what worries me the most...he has no idea where the ball is most of the time. he zeroes in on the qb, and that's it. there were run plays that went right at him...and by him. all he had to do was reach out or move his man to disrupt the play...but he either couldn't because he was being manhandled or he simply didn't see where the ball was in play.

Its going to be interesting who we pick in this draft. Rivera seemed high on Smith and he acts like he is still a dominate player so maybe we wont be getting Green.
