Kiper has Newton at #14, Fairley #1

I don't think Fairley is a 1. But Newton 13 spots down from wherever Fairley is is probably close to accurate.

If Fairley isn't a 1, who is? Green and Bowers are not more talented at their positions than Fairley. They're maybe equal. Who goes 1 is a matter of preference at this point.

At this point I would be equally happy with Green, Bowers, or Fairley. The first would solidify our WR core into the next decade post 89 era and give whoever our QB is in the future very solid weapons to work with. The last two would upgrade our defense immediately and hopefully give us a huge push up front. It's all up to JR, Hurney and co., and Rivera.

It's tough to say but it's hard saying we can go wrong. I just tend to think our offense is in dire need of a playmaker and someone who can make an immediate impact.

In my opinion, if they're thinking about the future: they draft Green. If they're thinking about this year: they draft Fairley.

there's a decent amount of truth to this but ultimately I think that either one of them can have a huge, lasting impact on the team.

They'll take the BPA. I still think that's Green, but Fairley has closed the gap somewhat. I still have questions about his attitude/maturity level as an NFL player.

I also think the Steve Smith situation will play heavily into the pick. If he has asked to be traded or if they're considering it anyway, then it has to be Green. Without Smitty there's no chance our offense gets back on track unless we get a guy in there who can fill those shoes and A.J. Green is that kind of play and then some.

If they plan to keep Smith, Fairley is probably the pick. He fills the bigger immediate need, but we're also better overall on defense than we are on offense.
