If Fairley=Sapp & Green=Andre J who then??

LOL I don't have a clue who Andrea Johnson is.

I didn't see the question as "an elite DT or WR" as ncbobcat suggested. Mainly because I don't see Andre Johnson as an elite WR, at least not in the same context as Sapp is an elite DT.

If what trucpfan was wanting was a set comparable players, then I would have went with Warren Sapp and Randy Moss. Then you are looking at some great dialoge and from that may come some insight on who would be a better pick between Fairley and Green.

I liked the question and the purpose behind it. Just would have changed the choice for the WR.

Very very true about to be changed. How do I change the title from Johnson to Moss!

depends.. our defense was 12th overall while on the field longer than any other defense (close enough to make that statement)

since we had no spectacular DT's then, and there are more FA DT's by far compared to WR FAs... why wouldn't you take Green?

and FFS, we don't need to trade Smitty unless we are offered a 2nd.. or two 3rds.. (it makes no sense to take away talent from an already bad offense)

Pick up Orton and we have a QB for next couple years until we address the issue..

Going by recent trades, I'd say we'd be lucky to get a late 3rd or 4th rounder for him and thats at best. If he wants out, Carolina has already pretty much said they would trade him.... @_@

As for the thread, I think Gettis has the skills and mindset to be a #1 WR for the team, I say go with Fairley.

Gettis is only a solid #2 at the moment and that's based off a homer's perspective..

if he gets 1000-1400 yards next year, he'll be legit.. hard to blame him this year, but a real high octane offense (the opposite of what John Fox has us use to) needs a real threat on offense and Gettis ain't it..

I agree with you, Smitty prob'ly won't pull that which is why I don't see the value in trading him. He's a real threat in the slot, so grab a top WR in FA or draft Green..
