Yeah thanks for catching that for me. My dyslexia is a bastard sometimes. lol If you think Boldin > Fitz then Boldin > Smith.

Oh, No! I didn't say that.

With the type of production that any of these guys is producing, and taking everything into account, the one who gets the ring(s) will probably come out on top in the minds of fans, NFL historians, and become the first HOFER.

Basically, the jury is still out. That being the case, at this point in their careers, Smitty is my guy.

Folks who are saying that Fitzgerald has Warner, keep in mind that he had Jake's backup Josh McCown for a majority of his first two years and then Matt Leinart the next year. He still did it with those guys.

I am happy to see some logic in this forest.

Welker 2007-112 receptions

Welker 2008-111 receptions

Cassel=Brady, right people? :rolleyes:

No, the way Welker is used in NE > the way Welker was used in Mia.

Before the playoffs, I thought Fitz was 1 and Smitty was 1a in the NFC. Still do.

Are we talking yards or receptions? Are we talking YAC yardage? Are we talking about average yards per reception? How about average yards per game? Does the fact that Smitty didn't really play in 2001 or 2004 not mean anything?

Which is greater the chicken or the egg?

Are you trying to insinuate that Smith does not have consistency? When all the data is processed, that doesn't compute. Even with the skewed data, it still doesn't compute.

It's like I said. Barring an early exit from the NFL whoever gets the ring(s), will end up being better in the hearts and minds of objective students of the game.

Right now, there is no need for objectivity, because things are so close in the muddy waters.

I HATE HATE HATE HATE when having or not having rings is a factor in judging a player. To me it is beyond silly. And yes I even "stuck up " for Peyton about that topic back before he had one...and you all know how much I loathe him.

Is a player a factor in helping or hurting his team in the pursuit of rings is more fair.

Fitz had Warner for 6 games in 2006, 14 last year, 16 this year. He also didn't have Whizenhunt or Haley coaching.

Smith's a keeper. So is Fitz. I'd trade Bryant Johnson for either of them and throw in Arnaz Battle and Isaac Bruce lol...

I don't disagree with you. I believe that Chris Carter should be a HOFER now. But, like Coach Fox says, "It is what it is."

Honestly guys, we've seen them both play. Fitz and Smitty both make some unbelievable catches, catches that humans should probably not be able to make. The difference is the stuff that Smitty is able to do after he's caught it, that's what separates them. Smith is probably the most dangerous man in the NFL when he has the ball in his hands. Defenses aren't worried about Fitz breaking out from underneath a five-man pile up and torching them 60 yards for a TD. Coaches have nightmares about Smitty because he does that kind of ridiculous stuff.

I gotta stay with Smitty on this one.

Fitz is a great WR no doubt, but he's this month's hot button.

Let's think back to how many WR's were proclaimed the "best" by the "experts" this year:

Steve

Fitz

Johnson

Boldin..

I could go on and on..

Id rather have Smitty, his hands are just as reliable, and you just cant beat that playmaking ability, not to mention the time and attention other teams spend on him in preparation and during the game, that's priceless.
