If We Don't Go QB in the 1st Round, Who is Your QB?

i don't see the incentive in bringing back moore. can't use the notion that he knows the offense anymore. he never staked a claim on this team and made it his. it's up for grabs. moore is no better than any FA choices out there. btw...don't take this to mean i'm on team jimmy cause i ain't.

at this point matt moore has no better of a chance of coming back than any other FA out there.

whoever starts this year will probably only be a placeholder until we can get a real QB in here.

The fact that the same FO that brought him here still being here is something that gives him a better chance. They know him and could be more comfortable with him rather than someone off the street.

You say his light went out but he was the only one who was able to get this offense to look real all season, without the help of a great running game. He's still got a chance.

I would go for either someone who has shown flashes or a genuine vet for Clausen. Obviously it depends on how much you like Clausen!

So Alex Smith or Billy Volek/Marc Bulger

I would imagine a QB is drafted at some point and QBs always drop in the draft simply because a team can only have so many. I would guess one of the highly touted ones reaches the 3rd round, Colt McCoy is a good example of this happening.

I'm pretty sure no one here loves Volek, I don't, but this team could use a veteran backup, if not to be a placeholder then at least hold a clipboard and help the young qbs on the roster. No one thinks he's a long term answer to anything, just a backup. Plus, he has been in San Diego with Rivera and two of our OC candidates for the past few years so it may just be a possibilty. Sorry to bring it up, ray.

Nothing definite right now. I'd let Clausen stay the starter through the off season, mainly for a confidence builder, then let him compete with Moore (assuming he gets re-signed) and whoever else we bring in from FA that's not too expensive. If he wins the competition, good, if not, he can be on the bench while Moore or the FA qb starts.

Just about anybody will tell you that a QB, especially a second rounder, takes about 2-3 years to develop on an average team. Don't hold it against Clausen for being thrown into the crap the front office made and floundering. Next year will be a new beginning, if he is not scarred. Note that I did not say he would be good, but to judge him now is like getting mad at a 9th grader who was forced into a varsity basketball game because of injuries for not scoring 20 points a game. He will soon, but not now. Do you think the coach cuts him as a sophomore because he had 5 turnovers a game as a freshman?

No QB we're fine there with new QB coach coming in and new plays and if the oc has any since he will play to the strenght of the QB until the coach and the QB fill like expanding the schemes in the playbook. But we need a player u can come in and be an impact palyer from the start I think the panthers going with Fairely as the number one pick. Don't know how many picks the panthers has in the draft but with what picks we have left I see us picking some depth and fill our needs through FA lik at Qb so I don't see matt moore coming back but I do see like VINCE YOUNG here or maybe KEVIN KOLB if the eagles don't sign vick heck I can see vick here in 2011 actually at a very reasonable price say 4 or 5 yrs at maybe 40 to 50 million with around 20 or 25 million quantreed. the toatal will include incentive for him
