TRADE BAIT: Suitors for the #1 Pick

It seems the top players on the board come in pairs, which is why there will be difficulty trading the #1 pick.

DT: Farley & Dareus

WR: Green & jones

CB: Peterson & Amurkamara

DE: Bowers & Quinn

Most teams would take the lesser of the two if it meant saving a second rounder to move up. They would trade up with Buffalo, for example, figuring one of the two players would drop to them. That makes it hard.

Of these pairs, the biggest difference seem to be between Peterson and Amurkamara. CB is not that deep this year, and there is one team with more picks than needs: The New England Patriots

They are not the the type who trade up, however. But they could fall in love with him and picks are useless unless you use them. This is what it would take to get him, based on what New England has using the trade chart formula: The 17th, 32nd (assuming they win the Super Bowl), our 33rd pick back, and the 64th.

And a first or second rounder next year. Would NE give this up to draft a CB first overall? Probably not.

Other teams who might deal for a the top CB: Philly (Kolb trade, anyone?), Dallas, San Francisco, Houston (big need), Cleveland, Atlanta (no way), Pittsburgh, Tennessee, and St.Louis.

The rare gems are two big DEs who weigh aroung 275 and run 4.6 40s. In a 4-3, they are similar. But in a 3-4, Bowers projects to DE and Quinn to OLB. In that difference, we could have the bait we need to inspire a trade. There seem to be a lot of 3-4 DEs in the draft, however, some team may want the best.
