Trade down Scenerio

the problem is i really don't see any reason for anyone to trade up in this draft. it is a pretty crappy draft class and the worst one in years, maybe ever, to have the 1st overall.

i can't see us getting much value at all out of a trade.

JR said he wants a playmaker. I dont think he allows Hurny to trade out of that spot unless he is positive he will get a playmaker in return. 99% sure AJ Green is the pick with Smith on his way out in the next year or so. but if Rivera switches our system to a 3-4 and we trade down, look for Robert Quinn to be the pick.

With a rookie cap teams will be more willing to trade up. Im hoping some GM gets a hard on for either Fairley or Green and wants to move up. This isnt like past years where teams had to break the bank to pay for a #1 pick. There will be a rookie cap.

Right now, I can't see a situation that a team will want to trade up to #1 even if a new CBA means much lower salaries for the top picks. The Bills at #3 know there is no sure fire QB worth a top 5 pick in the draft so they may be shopping their pick as much as anyone else and moving up to #3 would cost less than #1.

Unless a situation presents itself (like a player blowing up the combine and another team has to him no matter what), I am not optimistic about trading down.

    • Honestly Bryce is a conundrum right now I'm not really sure what we should do with him but I am content on him being the quarterback number one going into next season. I think we should allow him the chance to play out the season to prove that he's the quarterback he can be going into next season.  I would not waste a high draft pick on a quarterback because I'm not sure anyone in this up and coming class is as good or has the ceiling that he had with that said I wouldn't throw away the future I would bring in someone like Justin Fields to have him looking over his shoulder and give us a plan b if everything doesn't go right on a one-year deal. I think the priority right now if tepper wants to make a big splash is find a way to get Travis Hunter that would be option 1AA because he helps with both sides of the field either way whatever you need defense or offense. Make that happen and then go mostly defense the rest of the way and we're cooking.
    • Move on from what?   Let me guess we gatekeeping on who we can and can't appreciate?   Next time I will just make a Kuechly appreciation thread lmao
