Sheet of ice

Here in Spartanburg, what was a blanket of fluffy snow is now covered with a sheet of thin ice. My dogs are walking around gingerly because every fifth step they fall through that layer and it freaks them out. It's like a layer of ice on a pond or something.

Its like that here in Rock Hill. Got up round 6, went to the barn & checked on the animals. Everything is frozen over, not the animals lol. Going back to bed.

My dog is doing the same thing. She doesn't know what to do out there. Yesterday she was sprinting through the snow, and now she barely moves in it.

I didn't think of it when I went to the store on Monday, but I should have bought a bunch of containers of salt. My apartment's parking lot is a sheet of ice. I tried to roll out and take my garbage out and my wheels just spun on the ice. I barely made it back into my apartment.

Actually if it wasn't me, it would have been kind of comical seeing a guy in a wheelchair trying to roll on ice.

I need to get out and go to bank and to my condo with a load of boxes. I know my landlord isn't going to do anythng. He won't even hire anyone to rake the leaves and barely mows the grass. The only time he hires someone to clean the gutters of leaves, is when an apartment floods.

Roads were still icy here around 10. My husband and daughter went into the ditch on his demo while he was taking her to school. They hadn't even salted the road. I'm just happy they're both ok.

Now we've got to pay out of pocket to fix the car.

I see now why the dogs have been freaking out. I went out and walked through the grass and it was slicker than the street. Your foot breaks through the ice on top of the snow, hits the ground and slides immediately. I ended up losing my cellphone in a snow bank temporarily.

I'm in the process of moving. Weather permitting, I should be all moved by Monday the 17th!
