Are you happy with the hiring of Ron Rivera?

Funny how the poll on here is 83% approval, if you posted that thru the Observer or to ordinary fans, they would be blasting Jerry for being cheap, not hiring Cowher, and hiring a nobody coach. Thank you Huddle for existing.

The Observer commenters are not what I'd call "ordinary fans" :sosp:

(would "below average morons" be redundant?)

Rivera strikes me as one of the few "player coaches" that would actually earn and maintain the team's respect. He's seems intense and passionate about the game, something our former head coaches all lacked.

Not saying Capers, Seifert, and Fox weren't passionate about the game, but Rivera seems more aggressive than all 3.

I'm happy as hell about Rivera being the new HC. I'd be even happier once they make it official.

That's Hurney being Hurney. He is going to wait until the ink is dry, every attorney and agent has approved it, have a beer or two, enjoy a big steak and cigar, then stay out of the office for two days and not return phone calls. After that he will find sometime to make an announcement.

Rivera is a good hire. I am going to love watching our Defense come back to glory, and we have just the core to get it done.

It smells all too familiar. We have a dismal season, change coaches, hire a defensive coordinator and have a high draft pick, so happens to be #1.

Who do we take?

AJ Green

D Bowers

Where's the f**k yes option?

This^^^^

Agree. But his success in the 3-4 shows me that he can adjust to the personnel and scheme that he is given....and be very successful in doing so.

We may run several different formations being we have a few very good linebackers Davis Beason Anderson Connor throw in spin cylce Brown and Norwood, we will probably be a 4-3 with variations this could be interesting. Perfect hire for Carolina

No. We needed a proven HC who knows what it takes to build a team. I would love Rivera as the DC though and have nothing against him, it's just obvious that Richardson made this hiring based on the looming collective bargaining agreement. $2.8 million per year for a head coach is WAY low of the $3.25 NFL average. Way to save the bucks Richardson.

That is for all head coaches. For first time head coaches the average is 2 million so Rivera's is not low.

And the cheap rap doesn't fit so you must acquit. At least on this.
