"I wonder how he like's Carolina Blue" Fairley Thread

Meaning the best DT in Panther history? I'll take that!

Who's also a three time All-Pro and a four time Pro Bowler.

I'm down with that version of Jenkins as long he's on the field. That's all I was getting at. Anyone remember how many games he missed? What games did he play for the Jets the past 2 seasons? Don't think Fairley will be that way just looking at both sides of the coin per say.

First off, Dorsey is a poor comparison for Fairley because Dorsey got shafted in KC by the switch to 3-4. Dorsey is a mediocre 3-4 DE but had/has the ability to be a really good to great 4-3 DT. So to say that Dorsey is/was a bust is inaccurate because Dorsey is in a poor system for his strengths.

Anybody who thinks that we sould pick Blaine Gabbert #1 overall is a fuging retard. There is no nicer way to say it. You are an idiot and should possibly try an expirement of what happens when you hold your breath for 3 minutes and pass out on a bed of copper wire that is ran with 480 VAC.

As much as I would love to draft AJ Green since it might provide local fans here in Charleston a reason to not bandwagon Steelers/Cowboys, we already made the "business" pick with Armanti last year. Besides, Alshon Jefferies will most likely be entering the draft next season.

Our two rookie WRs are showing progress, and we still have yet to see how the project WR has come along (if at all, I don't think Fox was looking to coach anybody up last season that he hadn't had already). If Armanti looks terribad next season, then look to replace him with someone like Alshon! =D

We've got a big gap at DT that can address with Nick Fairley and maybe a bargain pick in the later rounds, similar to how we picked up Gettis and Hardy. He reminds me of Warren Sapp like others are saying, but I'm also concerned with character issues as well as work ethic once he gets paid. However, if he retains that competitive attitude in the pro levels, then I think we've got our #1 pick.

Fox got Peppers, Rivera got Fairley. The cycle begins once again? This time with moar SUPAR BOWL? O.O!!

Reminded me a bit of Peppers with that number 90, but really, I can see how this guy is a dick. He shoved that dude's face in the grass after already pummeling him. WTF? Peppers at least had class on the field. He outplayed his opponents. Plus he looks a bit too bulked up to maintain that speed in 2 years.

I don't think I'd take him at number 1 though. Not over Green.

I don't understand this thought that Fairley takes plays off.

Except that people/ average fans, have no clue how or what a DT does on any given play.

I can not recall a single time this year that I have ever watched a play and thought, "Damn, if Fairley wasn't slacking he could have made a hell of a play there.". Much less ever thinking that he was just passing time on the field.

Most people have no idea what a DT does and what a DT is supposed to be doing during a game.

disagree.. we will help out defense more by getting Orton and Green.. addressing both issues and ensuring a dangerous threat at WR for years, regardless how many picks we spent last year.. those are the only picks we've spent in 10 years, of course at some point we need to make up for it.. Smitty is irrelevant in this decision, because he isn't #1 and Gettis isn't either..

yes, we need a DT, but this isn't the only year we can address DT.. nor the only round... it is the only year and round we'll be able to ****** up an incredible WR talent..

just my opinion though..

This just makes more sense

Fairly is great, but the other DTs in this draft I honestly think can be even better and create bigger holes. We can potentially nab some awesome DT talent in the 3rd & 4th rounds (Powe, Jenkins, Fua, Austin, Casey, Ellis...just off the top of my head)

I can't even think of a receiver even remotely close to impacting this team as Green would. Blackmon...meh

You just can't pass up on stud wideout talent imo. I'll be damned if we miss out on a Calvin Johnson type player

but.....I'd be perfectly fine with either Fairly or Green in the end though. Its great that we have the choice of two stud players

So...

There will never be another great receiver?

Get the fug out of here. Are you fuging serious? There is no way that you ever played a down of football outside of Madden.

It is an aggressive ass game. It is physical and emotions become involved, you think that a guy is a terd because he shoved another guys face in a pile during a game? That was probably the nicest thing that happened in that pile during that play.

fuging stupid reason not to draft a player, especially a DT.
