"I wonder how he like's Carolina Blue" Fairley Thread

Suh >>>>> Bradford

I said you shouldn't draft need before bpa. Not that teams didn't do it.

honestly, i think Bradford was the best offensive player, but best player, dont know, BUT you cant blame the Rams for passing on Suh. they had MAJOR quarterback issues and they drafted Carriker from Nebraksa and he didnt work and i think the Rams saw Sanchez and Ryan and wanted that.

i can NOT see Carolina doing this. they will draft who they feel they need most. they will look at the QBs and see if they want to replace Clausen with one of them and if they dont, they will get another player like Fairley or Green or Bowers.

If Fairley doesn't declare then Green is a slamdunk as far as I'm concerned. If he does declare then our F.O. is gonna have one hell of a tough choice to make.

Agree, but I think there's a 0.0% chance that Fairley doesn't declare. He would be a fool to pass up the opportunity to be a # 1 overall draft pick this year.

A dude on the local sports radio was doing an interview with someone down in Arizona just after the BCS title game, and said that with fairly's performance last night some people may be willing to trade with us. I would be more open to that now than ever. What I did learn last night is that Cam Newton is in no way shape or form ready to be a QB in the NFL. I dont know if he made a quality throw all night with proper mechanics. No thanks!

agreed cam is not nfl ready.he didnt proved anything last night.fairley showed up last night dominated the line.we dount need another, clausen or moore.

I disagree with your assessment... Some of those guys still haven't had enough time in the league to make their name, and others went on to be solid for other teams, but a lot of those WRs are light years better than Brandon LaFell and David Gettis...

Can we get a ban for this stupid post and the person that thinks it means anything?

You never draft for need, you draft BPA. Fairley is need, Green is BPA.

Also, it was mentioned earlier that Fairley would come in and instantly boost the defense. That probably wouldn't be the case, DTs usually take a while to transition. If you want a defensive player to come in and instantly contribute, that'd be Bowers or Peterson.

In his defense, stop comparing him to Suh. No DT is going to compare favorably to Suh for quite a while. Compare him to Sapp.

I do agree that you take the BPA... if the difference in skill is something vast. But, here, almost all scouts have Fairley and Green ranked near the same. Since it wouldn't be a reach, and taking either one would work, why would you not take need as well as BPA?

And DT takes a while to transition? Did you see Suh play last season? The man was a force to be reckoned from pre-season on.

Also, I will stop comparing him to Suh, and I will start comparing him to Sapp. Have you ever seen Sapp's career numbers? A two-time all NFL Decade Player, Defensive Player of the Year, a number of Pro Bowls and All-Pro First Teams.

Definitely represents a tremendous need but I really think AJ Green is a better prospect. Green is that cal Johnson/Andre Johnson type of receiver...fairley is good but not as good as Sue or McCoy last year.

I dont recall either Sue or McCoy dominating a national championship game last year...How the heck can you say Fairley is not as good? you can't

He flat out DOMINATED that championship game, and would LOVE to have him here. He would be a beast both in pass and run game, instant started and boost for our defense
