We are not the average fan. We are the Huddle. Mainstream sites have no idea how much we love our team, and love the game. By those virtues we can also think of the possibilities brought to us by a good hire.

Couldn't be happier...Rivera is due for a chance to run the show, he has a great resume, his players talk very highly of him, and he is respected around the league. Reminds me of Fox...which is a good thing.

I'm sort of ambivalent. I'd heard of him unlike some of the other candidates but I can't say I actually know too much about him. Most of the talking heads were slobbering over the Chargers offense when I've watched them over the last couple years and I guess I hadn't noticed their defense too much.

I know I read the Chargers 3-4 defense was in the top 5 last year, which I wouldn't have guessed. So, tell me what I don't know. Does he have some personality? Has he shown indications to be conservative/aggressive defensively? Why are you happy with him, or not?

Typical fan wants a name. Someone the media has talked about or is seen a lot in the media. That means a Cowher, or a Harbaugh. This even though the odds are just as good for Rivera to succeed as they are for any of those guys.

I wouldn't say I am excited, but I am certainly optimistic.

His defensive mentors are Buddy Ryan and Jim Johnson, so expect a very aggressive approach.

As the DC in Chicago, he constantly preached stripping the ball. produced a load of takeaways.

He's coordinated defenses that finished number one a couple of times, including this past season.

Pair him with a great OC, and we might be in pretty good shape.

This^^^ excites me I remember his days at chicago and to think we have a top tenish defense as is with some work oh I can't wait. If the offense steps up based on a OC/qb it may be back to the worst to first NFC south that is a reoccuring theme.
