You should have known that before the game even started.

True but I never put much thought into it. I know Peterson, Fairley, and Green are the only players that are worth the #1 pick and for some reason people think Newton is worth the #1 pick but even if he is included SEC is where the top pick is coming from.

He did make a good amount of clutch passes, he also ran plenty of times to get a 1st down. He did fumble the ball one time which isn't that bad considering he ran for 22 times and threw 34 times, thats 56 plays where he had to carry the ball in his hands 1 fumble out of 56 plays isn't that bad.

Is he #1 overall pick worthy? No but he will be a 1st round pick and is a great player.

BUT like i said, the cons outweigh the pros in my book, today he ran the ball 22 times, can't do that in the NFL and play all year. i dont think he made clutch plays mainly because i see clutch being how you do on the final drive and he really wasnt used on that, BUT i admit he had some pros like some good throws, but i did NOT like his runs (22 times is too much) and i didnt like the overthrows he had, it was a great game for Auburn and good win, but he's not a number one overall pick. i did not say that he's not a first round pick, he is, but i would still sit him a year, let him learn that he cant run 22 times and then i think he could be great.

Auburn played a horrible game and still won, they looked like they tried to lose.

Dropped passes, overthrown passes, dropped INT's, missed assignments.

So how overrated is Oregon if they lose a game like this?

I knew Auburn would win but wow.

And BTW if you weren't paying attention, Newton was clearly hurt/shaken up, which is why he was looking so sluggish in the 4th.

Couldn't agree more - Auburn made a lot of mistakes, and still were able to win. I counted at least four key pass drops, especially the one for touchdown, which is winning pretty ugly.

Gotta like Dyer, as a freshman, running hard. He'll be NFL in two years. Reminds me of Ray Rice on the Ravens.

Looked like Newton was playing hurt for much of the game, too. He didn't have the spark and aggressiveness that he usually seems to have.

Fun game to watch!

Oregon played no better. The 1/2 yard line run into the Auburn tackles was a 9 point turn around. The 1st and goal where they never used there speed and got stuffed was another 7. If either team played well, or the coaches coached better things would have been different.

That just means they were outmatched(and they were), not that they played worse.

Plus Auburn is just as fast or faster in most cases(up front) than Oregon, so what speed would they be using here?
