Most likely no mail today

With the snow, it's probably a forgone conclusion that there will be no mail.

I always thought this this was the USPS creed, but actually it's just engraved on the NY City Post Office.

"Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds."

It's also pretty sure that we will see the end of the Saturday Home Delivery of mail as well in the next few months. The USPS is just waiting approval from Congress. They they will likely get with the new congress when it comes into session.

At first I was really disturbed by this. I do a ton of business on eBay and do most of my shipping through the Post Office. (Though it seems that even eBay is steering it Sellers to ship more UPS. eBay has made it easy to print and ship via UPS in the last 6 months.)

If it weren't for eBay and other auction sites like it, the Post Office would be really hurting! IMO

No business I know of, gets Saturday delivery, so I guess I can see why the Post Office wants to cut it out. The biggest problem I see as a Seller on eBay, is that I might get "dinged" by a Buyer as perceived "slow shipment" due to not shipping on a Saturday.

I was wrong.

I had a fill in. 1/2 my mail always gets sent back when I have a fill in!

He didn't deliver anything I was expecting from eBay, even thought it said it was posted "Processed through sort facility, Charlotte" last night! I'll have to see if it was posted "Out for Delivery". That means it most likely will get sent back. I lose more friggin mail that way!

I forgot about Netflix Jangler. They keep that Post Office going too.

Has anyone noticed that magazines are starting to offer discounts on subscriptions if you get it delivered "electronically" over a printed version? Pretty soon, a printed magazine will go away. (Then what will we read in the Doctor's office while we are waiting all that time? Or on the toilet? LOL) All of us will have to have iPods or Kindels? (I don't have either.)
