Assistant Coach Options

I wonder if Jeremiah Trotter has any interest in coaching.

He was one of the linebackers Rivera coached in Philly (from 99-01) and was a very smart player. he's been out of football for a couple of years. Started some business ventures but, if I read right, they didn't go very well.

Rivera did something else for a couple of years between his playing career and coaching career too.

I remember seeing a lot of videos on the eagles and Trotter was always a vocal leader on the field, I think he would make a great coach, preferably a linebackers coach.

Another possibility, but one that may vanish quickly, is Karl Dunbar on the defensive line.

Dunbar was the Bears D Line coach in 2004 (Rivera's first year there as a coach) and has been coaching the Williams Wall in Minnesota for the past five years.

He's reportedly out of contract. The Bucs are making a move on him. I could conceivably see us doing so too, but only if he doesn't sign with the Vikes or Bucs first.

Reed says the Chargers did indeed give permission for Chudzinski to interview with the Dolphins. No real reason to believe they'd turn around and deny it to us.

(assuming the Dolphins don't hire him, that is; they do have multiple candidates)

Not my first choice for an OC mind you, but Rivera obviously knows him better than I do.
