I would like to have Ramsdell more like an offensive coordinator in waiting for the sole purpose that he will either be working with Jimmy Clausen or a rookie and there is no better QB coach to learn from than Ramsdell.

Makes no sense for him to move laterally to be our QB coach. He's got one of the cushiest gigs right now with Rivers.

If he comes here and fails with our failed QBs, it looks bad on him. If he stays with SD, he just waits for a promotion because he knows Rivers won't make him look bad.

Why risk ruining your reputation. Why not sign back with the Chargers where the QB is already good until someone gives you a promotion, not a lateral movement.

Yeah I doubt Ramsdell would move laterally into a much worse QB situation. He could move into the OC position though, however the duration he has been a QB coach suggests he might not want it?

no it doesn't. That deal was signed in Jan 08, meaning the 2 years of that deal were 08 and 09. Plus adding Acee's mention that the staff got extensions after 09, means that Ramsdell is not available.

What about Jim Fassel as Offensive Coordinator? He's a head coach in the UFL, but an OC position in the NFL would have to be a better job.
