Assistant Coach Options

Mr. Scot

Word now that Mike Trgovac would prefer to stay in Green Bay next season rather than pursuing a possible DC job with the Eagles.

Sad. I'd have loved to have seen the Eagles get trgovac after we got McDermott

Also appears they're not pursuing DB Coach Darren Perry, as earlier speculation had suggested. Latest chatter centers around guys like Winston Moss, Keith Butler and Ray Horton.

On the Panthers front, Jim Skipper has been told he won't be asked back. Per darin Gantt, there's a good possibility his position and the remaining openings will be filled this week.

(makes sense, since the team likely could have conducted any remaining interviews at the Senior Bowl)

If it does happen this week, you might expect it to be early. The league generally frowns upon teams announcing news too close to the Super Bowl.

The Bengals have fired offensive coordinator Bob Bratkowski, sources tell ESPN's Chris Mortensen.

This one comes out of left field as the Bengals were widely expected to keep Bratkowski, who just finished his 10th season as the team's coordinator. The timing suggests that it could be a result of Carson Palmer's trade request last week. The Bengals' offense has underperformed badly recently, failing to finish better than 22nd in points scored in any of the last three seasons. Former Vikings head coach Brad Childress, who had dinner with Marvin Lewis a couple weeks ago, could emerge as a candidate.

Browns and Raiders each got line coaches today. Raiders hired OL Coach Bob Wylie. Browns got DL Coach Dwaine Board.

I had forgotten about Board. He's a good DL guy. Raiders let him go last year and he didn't get picked up by anyone else in the NFL. I think he took a year off.

(boy, would I love to be able to do that) :(

No connection to Rivera that I know of for Board. Wylie was previously with the Bears but I haven't been able to nail down what years.

Edit: Found it. Wylie was in Chicago while Rivera was with the Eagles, so no real connection there either.

Pleaes get Dave McGinnis. I'll bust a load.

Head Coach: Ron Rivera

DC: Sean McDermott

LB Coach: Dave McGinnis

DB Coach: Ron Meeks

Yeah, that's a scary staff

I still think Bill Shuey is more likely to get LB Coach than McGinnis though, and he wouldn't be bad either.
