Thanks, pcolabucfan. Any word out of TB on why your OL was suddenly fired? Would love to see the Panthers bring him on board as a TE coach after his four years of experience with NE.

49ers officially hire former Browns and Panthers ST coach Brad Seely.

Titans might replace fired Dc Chuck Cecil with...Eric Mangini? :sosp:

On the Panthers front, still no word at all yet on TE, DL and LB coaching spots. Could be waiting on someone in the playoffs at one (or all).

Carolina Growl:

The Panthers are still in the process of interviewing candidates to fill assistant coaching spots at wide receiver, running back, defensive line and linebacker.

Perhaps Chudzinski will coach TE's?

I think Reed may have just omitted it. Gantt said they still needed a TE Coach.

Having a coordinator be a position coach too has happened before, but it's not a model I like much.

Until they say otherwise, I'm still expecting a dedicated position coach.

Update: Gantt again today stated that TE Coach was a position they still plan to fill.

Here's a bit of a surprise.

In an article in The Tennessean, Titans beat writer Jim Wyatt listed Saints DC Gregg Williams as one of the possibilities for replacing Chuck Cecil.

Williams previously worked with Fisher in Tennessee from 1994 to 2000. For four of those seasons, he was Fisher's defensive coordinator. So there is a history there, and some shared success (the Titans Super Bowl run occurred in 1999).

A lateral move like this would only be possible if Williams is out of contract.

For the record, both Williams and Fisher have a rep for coaching their players to use dirty tactics.

Why would Moss leave for anything other than a HC gig

A coordinator job is still a step up, and his contract in Green Bay might be over.

As I suspected they might, the Raiders are dumping one of their offensive guys, specifically Paul Hackett. He'd have been a good option for Qb Coach, but they hired Shula so we'll see what happens.

With the playoffs out of the way, will be no surprise if the rest of the staff is in place by week's end.
