Assistant Coach Options

Mr. Scot

I thought of that, but I'm not that high on Cecil and there are some decent LB coaches looking for jobs right now.

I had wondered if one of Jim Johnson's stalwarts - jeremiah trotter - might be looking into coaching, but his recent comments about McDermott likely preclude him from working here.

So let's see...

Ron Rivera

Rob Chudzinski

John Matsko

Sean McDermott

Ron Meeks

Brian Murphy

Sam Mills III

Mike Shula

Ricky Proehl

Clearly, one of our criteria is that you have a name that starts with 'R' or 'M'.

I suppose Ron Meeks is our ideal coach, and perhaps explains why Jay Gruden didn't have a shot.

(yeah...I'm going to bed) :skep:

I had a vague memory of Mangurian being a tight ends coach previously, but I wasn't positive. Looked it up and so he was (with the Patriots from 05-08; also the Broncos of the late 80s).

Back when he was with the Patriots, he helped Ben Watson and Daniel graham come into their own.

Recently fired, last name starts with 'M'...he might just get a look here after all

(and yes, he'd be another former coordinator taking a job as a position coach)

Wannstedt took a job coaching the Bills linebackers (assistant head coach title thrown in).

Eagles could lose Dick Jauron to the Browns. He's said to be the "leading candidate" for their DC spot.

(just a short time ago, Chudzinski was "leading" the race for the Miami OC spot too)
