Per Jay Glazer: Rivera to become Panthers HC

i don't think the offense will have his stamp on it. listening to richardson's press conference i think the organization will make a decision on which direction to go with the offense. (remember richardson saying the panthers were too focused on what the coach wanted for too long, i.e. foxball conservative predictablity)

that being said, if he brings ramsdell with him from SD you can possibly expect some of the same principles of a norv turner type offense. aggressive running game, and multifaceted passing attack with elements of the WCO. but then again i don't know much at all about ramsdell so i could be wrong.

gantt is saying he thinks the OC is in hand (presuming rivera is an inevitability):

Would seem to point to Ramsdell, no?

Cautiously optamistic.

Rivera's Defensive ranking history with the Chargers:

2010 - #1

2009 - #16

2008 - #25 (he took over at the end of October)

So he's improved them every year. But stats can be deceiving. And how will he manage an offense? Will we go West-Coast?

Keep in mind that he did this while coaching a defensive alignment he hadn't worked in before.

how can any adult human interview worse than John Fox?

Interviewer: So mr. fox what happened this past year in carolina

Fox: Well, it is what it is, and at the end of the day, I chewed my gum and clapped my hands. But Jimmy Gave us the best chance to win since Jake wasn't there.

Interviewer:

Oh We Mayne

I thought we weren't gonna sign anybody until after the CBA?

That applies to players, not coaches.

I was shocked when he didn't get a HC nod after his stint in Chicago. Maybe he does interview poorly as Fiz says.

He's always been a DC that never got talked about enough. Two top 2 defenses with two different teams? Come on, now.

That's been suggested a time or two.

Apparently, he's gotten better.

I like it, follow the same formula that got us from worst to first in two years last time.

New defensive minded coach.

Year 1: Build solid defense (circa #2 in the league), get pieces of offense to build on, finish 7-9.

Year 2: Maintain strong defense, complement with fully refurbished offense. Super Bowl.

having English as a second language hurts the interview process

I hear a lot of Spanish speaking people in this country are very good at navigating "de-fence" :nonod:

ok I'm done

and where did this smiley come from :Chevy_anim: I've noticed a few new ones and I don't see the relevance
