Kolb Wants Out Of Philly?

but that's the issue, he's solid, average, not great, not good. if he's got a greaet offensive coach and players around him, he will play great, but if he were on our team last year, i dont see him winning any more than 3 games. i think (if we replace clausen) we should go to the draft.

who cares how he would do on our team last year? it would take Manning to elevate any results... bad excuse.

find a better QB than solid.. very rare.. he has put up really good numbers and is only about 5 years in the league..

if he's solid, why would you risk wasting your #1 overall pick on a QB that might not be NFL quality?

hardly makes sense when you can grab an exceptional QB with a future pro bowl receiver..

some fans just look for flashy and think that's the best choice.. I'm telling you it's dumb, and somewhat ignorant/naive. ;)

honestly, i wouldnt care if we kept Clausen, BUT i know everyone on this board thinks that's dumb to borderline retarded.

in a horrible year, down year with a coach and incompetent on offense included.. no one in their right mind can truly judge a rookie QB.. he might suck later on down the road, but this year is hardly the determining factor.

i agree, but like i said, i wouldnt mind giving him one more year, i think he has the talent to win with and think an AJ Green could fix part of the problems (a GREAT offensive coach would fix the rest). BUT like i said, on this board, you suggest keeping Clausen is considered dumb.

I hear ya.. nah, what would be really dumb is cutting a player you drafted in the 2nd round based off of this year..

We are keeping Clausen. We don't have to have a flashy qb to have a good offense, The Vikings had one of the highest scoring offenses in NFL history with a washed up scrambling quarterback,(Randall Cunningham). Fact of the matter is that with the right coaching staff and right players our team could have a great offense without a great quarterback.

...Clausen still has a chance under an actual OC, unlike he did under Davidson

Maybe, but not this year. By the end of the year he looked downtrodden and, quite frankly, like he'd rather be anywhere else.

I'm sure he'll do better than he did this year, be it for us or for someone else, eventually but I don't think he stands a chance in 2011

I disagree, Jimmy's been thru something like this before at ND, I think he can handle it. First order of business should pairing him with a good QB coach and restore his confidence. With that, it's a new ballgame.
