Would You Trade Down and Pick Up Tebow? Pair him with McDaniels ?

I think that was a joke, cat'sgrowl.

and no I wouldn't take The Golden Calf of Bristol, and I don't think Denver would let him go for anything reasonable either. There's been an update about his comments recently, I think we have a post about it up in the NFL section where he clarified what he meant... The Golden Calf of Bristol isn't at that level yet.

To clarify my thoughts on The Golden Calf of Bristol... I think he's a very good football player, and if anyone can turn themselves into a great QB, Tim can.

Myself and our entire organization think very highly of him. We are pleased with his first year as a Bronco.

Any speculation that the Denver Broncos are considering moving Tim is completely false.

Though it's crazy to think Denver would trade him to move up one spot for nobody..

Denver wouldn't be trading him to move up one spot, they would be trading him because as long as he's on the team he's going to be the starter because he was a 1st round pick.

Elway would want to go a different direction, and he can't do that while The Golden Calf of Bristol is there. So he would basically be giving us a 2nd rounder to take him off his hands. All we would be losing is one position in draft order in the 1st round.

If our new coach, and hopefully Josh McD as OC, felt that The Golden Calf of Bristol could be a good NFL QB, the proposed trade would be a win win for both teams.

Sad to hear, I was hoping he was considering moving him after I heard that from Elway, I was actually shocked.

I still think he may have said he didn't think The Golden Calf of Bristol was a good NFL QB, but he may be backtracking because I think it could be his ego talking... It's clear he performed well to end the year, and he's got all the intangibles to get better.

lol, there is no f**king way the Broncos would give us a 2nd rounder AND The Golden Calf of Bristol just to move to #1.

Yeah I don't know what the value is for trading from the #2 to #1? Just trying to throw an idea out there... I think it also depends on how bad a team wants a player they're scared we might take. But, again, I don't think any player is that great where a team feels the need to move up in the top 5, so I don't know how realistic it is...

For that to happen it would have to take Denver absolutely falling in love with someone that would Newton that would a) be a player we might actually take and B) someone that could replace their QB.

I don't see that happening, but if it did, then I wouldn't turn it down if we have the right coaching staff in place.

You have to remember The Golden Calf of Bristol was a 1st rounder and he had a decent season last year. So while you are right that a player + 2nd rnd = good cahnce of moving up, I just think that player is gonna have to be someone the other team isn't still heavily invested in.

I do think we could get some nice offers for the #1 now from teams that want help on the DL or WR, though.
