So...Having a 'Franchise QB' Doesn't guarantee a superbowl?

Thats a baffling point you are making there.

We want a good quarterback

We want to put some talent around him

We haven't done that.

I am taking shots at the morons that feel the #1 thing is a 'franchise'/ 'Elite' QB. Well I listed several guys that can be considered that, who are sitting home.

it takes a Damn good QB, granted, but it takes a great TEAM with tons of LUCK esp when it comes to injuries to make the playoffs and win the superbowl. Too many fans pin too much on the QB.

No. We need to trade down a couple times and stock up on picks. If we get a 2nd by doing that then yeah I take the kid. He has everything you can ask for.

oh hell no I wouldn't touch Dalton in the 2nd. O.o He's short, mediocre arm, decision making, mobility... I dunno, I wouldn't use a 2nd on him

2008 and 2009 Panthers. We had the team, not the QB. You can try to ignore QB all you want and address other areas. However, you'll just stay in mediocrity until you do.

I am not saying we dont need a damn good QB, what I am saying is all this hysteria about we need Luck or Manning or Joe Montana or whomever just isn't true. We made the superbowl and lost by a friggin FG with Jake at QB for God's sake!

I do agree whole heartedly we need a major upgrade. I just feel there are guys in this draft that if we trade down, get more talent on this team, can over time get us where we want to go.

We went to one superbowl and lost it with Jake and went to the post season 3 times in 7 years (I suck at math but I think that is right, counting his injury year). I'd like to be more consistent than that, but either way, you don't hit a FA acquisition homerun like that every day...

We need to address QB somehow. The draft is the logical place, but it may not turn out that way.

Huh? Dalton has gotten better every year. he has a cannon for an arm and can make all the throws and is one of the most accurate QB's in College ball. this kid would be great to bring in.

Dalton has an average arm, and because of his height, his delivery is a concern. Expect a lot of batted balls. Not saying he couldn't do it in time, but right now I wouldn't spend a 2nd on him. He had a good game against Wiscy and I respect his development as you say, but I think a 2nd is a reach for him. I could be wrong, maybe he'll really show off at the combine or senior bowl or whatever is next for him, but right now I wouldn't.

edit: I think he's the kind of kid you could take if you have a good offensive system in place that can create passing lanes for a shorter QB.

Kinda Like Brees?

I think the point of the tread was to take a shot at all the people hanging onto Luck's nuts. You know, the people who act like just by getting Luck we would instantly be a superbowl team. The people who act as if QB by himself will win all the games. At least that's what I got out of it
