I really agree with what he said. IMO its Newton or Fairley that get picked. Trading down dose not make much since unless we get a major package deal. The combine and interviews will be extreamly important for Newton and Fairley.

I also expect

Denver- its ether Fairley,Da'Quan Bowers, or CB

Bufflio- to take Mallett or Newton whoever is there.

Cincinnati- in a shocker I think they pick AJ Green.

Arizona- In much need of a QB they pick Locker or Gabbert.

This years draft will be interesting because if the CBA is not signed teams will draft as if they are losing players or as if they are keeping them.

Hope Newton comes out and looks awesome, because even though I think the two best prospects in the draft are Peterson and Green neither are worth the type of contract they would get at #1.

Hope Newton is smart and can play from Center and run an NFL offense 40% better then Clausen can... lol

The problem is the best (probable) talent will be a DT, a DE and a WR, none of which warrant a $60 million contract, no matter how good they are.

Well we aren't sure if the rookie cap will be in place yet. If it passes before the draft then it won't be a problem. (iirc, the max is $20 mil for 4 years, 5mil guaranteed.)

aj green is to good to pass up. green gettis lafell and maybe a free agent pick up or another steal like gettis will make clausen a good qb and we wont need to draft one. to many people have given up on clausen he gets little time to throw and no one got open fast enough for him and it doesnt help that our play call was awful. it doesnt help that steve dropped every pass to him and missed a few games

That's not a terrible choice either, but he's nowhere near the prospect Green is.

It's a shame that they're banning trades and FA as a form of obtaining a QB as well. Where did you hear that?

I want to like Newton. I'm hoping he blows the doors off the Ducks Monday night. I also am intrigued by Fairley and how he could anchor our DL. He would fill an obvious need. Green, to me, would be a luxury as we have Smith, Lafell and Gettis and I think those guys will be servicable for a couple of years. I don't think our rec have been given a chance so far to gell and show what they can do. There is talent there. I just want to see it used properly.

Monday's game and the combine will be huge in making our decision. I'm a defacto Auburn fan this weekend.

I would want Green or Fairley. Peterson is good but we could get the Prince with a later pick. The only players I see worth our #1 pick are Green and Fairley. I wouldn't mind us getting Marcell Dareus but isn't going at #1, should we trade down we should get him because Fairley would more than likely be gone.

I don't want any Qb from this draft.

i don't think you avoid offense in any shape or form. even if you're not sold on any of the QBs you can still get a receiver here, and this team needs receiving weapons (I'm not totally convinced both Gettis AND Lafell are going to work out and we don't know Smith's future, and best case scenario we have 4 very good receivers)

From reading it, it appears he has it listed by talent and who's most deserving at #1 overall. After reading his footnotes, it appears he thinks we're most likely to get Fairley or Newton (which I am TOTALLY fine with).

Clausen had more than just Tate. Which is why I wasn't worried about it. I was wrong.

Gabbert is the best QB in the draft but that doesn't mean he will go #1 or go to us. I am trying hard to fight the desire to draft him because I know some of it is motivated from wanting a decent QB so bad.

my thoughts exactly. We NEED a QB but I don't want to reach for one if he isn't worth it.
