Really? Who? The NFL FA class of QBs is small... They are going to want big bucks to play anywhere. I much rather take a risk with the Rookie cap in place then to place my hopes on a backup or over the hill QB.

I dont think Vince Young would be THAT bad, personally...

There's no denying VY has talent, if you're convinced he's got his head on straight you'd basically get a more developed Cam Newton for next to nothing and still have your #1 pick.

You guys realize if we spend the top pick on some mediocre soon-to-be-bust of a QB, we're stuck with him for a few years to the point where we'll almost definitely pass up on much better prospects (even Luck) in 2012.

Look Newton and Young have nothing in common except there both black. VY GPA coming out of collage was 2.9! VY score a 6 on his worderlic... a fuging 6! It took him 3 times to get a 22...

You do realize that every team this year will think they can turn him into the next Vick. Remember its a copy cat league.

Newton is far better even right now then VY will ever be.

People are scared of getting McNabb, but they should look at 2009 when he had a real team around him.

At this point we could not get any worse at QB. If we pick a QB at #1 we will be better and if we pick up a Good FA QB we will be better. IMO McNabb is worth the risk because we have nothing to lose. So is Cam Newton because we have nothing to lose...

Getting McNabb would also give us the freedom to draft Green without second guessing ourselves. Then if either Newton or Mallett or maybe even Locker fall far enough we could work our way back into the first with some kind of packaged deal to nab one of them (possibly including Smith in the deal since he'd become expendable). However, I wouldn't be opposed to trading down and getting one of those QBs, but that would mean no Green since he is graded as a top 5 pick. Which is higher than any of those QBs. Newton is rated that high on some boards, but not many.

he has some off the field issues though, with the exception of SS, we generally dont pick up those guys, which is why i think (HOPE) we'll pass on mallet and newton. gabbert... if we draft him we may as well prepare to be in the basement for a LONG time, i mean he's a qb in a stat padding system (spread), and he still had mediocre numbers, avoid him like cancer.

as rocknrolla said, a MUCH better qb class is coming, and i really do think luck will drop because

-They're getting a new coach

-SEVEN of the eleven offensive starters are leaving

there are better qb options next draft besides luck as well... he isnt the only thing next draft like he would have been this one

I agree with all of what you said! I just don't think the coaches/GM are gonna be like lets hold off and wait until next year to get a stud Qb at the top of the draft.

They get the job they are gonna do everything to win now... and between the 3 QB's I believe they will see one that they believe in and think they can coach up.

I do wish we would draft Green/ or defense and pick up a qb next year cause to me no one is this class is worth the #1 pick. To me any QB we take will be a reach, and I believe it will set us back at the end of the day.
