Post-1st Round DTs

I had to post Drake Nevis, being an LSU guy. He would prob be a guy that teams would feel comfotable drafting between rounds 4 and 6. He is a little undersized at 6ft 1, 290ish, but has drawn comparisons to warren sapp. Idk how accurate those assumptions were, but I know Todd Mcshay had him ranked as the Number 1 Senior DT and a top 3 or 4 in the draft earlier this year.

I think Austin will do very well at the Combine and that will bump him up the draft boards a bit. He's a boom or bust guy, IMO. He has tremendous talent, but that never translated to domination on the college level. He was good, don't get me wrong, but not as good as he should've been. I've heard more than a couple of times that his work ethic was questionable at best during his time in Chapel Hill.

This coming from a UNC fan.

I've always thought that Bruce Carter was the best prospect on that roster, but seeing how Bray picked their secondary apart after Deunta Williams got hurt, I think I may have underestimated that kid. I knew he was good, but that secondary just fell apart when he went down.

wow word for word what I would have said.....also I think Searcy is flying under the radar. He definitely isn't as good as Deunte but he would be a steal in the 7th if he could be had.

I've always thought Bruce was going to be the best NFL player out of this defense. Even better than Quinn

I wouldn't take a chance on Austin unless he really plummets which won't happen

I would like to have Austin if we can get him in later rounds, I think he lost out on being a first round pick by missing out this season. His worth ethic will probaly cost him a few spots as well. At best this guy will be a second round pick. Does anyone think this guy will fall past the 4th round?

Look at what happened to Hardy this year in the draft who was projected to be first round talent but injuries and worth ethic/problems with coaches cost him. I never thought we would be able to get a player as good as Hardy in the sixth round. It just shows how the NFL doesn't want to take big risk on troubled players. I honestly think that Hardy will be a great defensive end he has already showed potential with limited time, and he has showed amazing speed on special teams. I am hoping that Austin's draft stock will fall like Hardy so we can pick him up with a late pick. I am predicting that he will go in the middle to late third round.
