What if Luck decides he will not play for anyone but JH. SF will be right up there with us and we could get screw again. I dont think we need to chase the waterfall that is Luck. Lots of things could change now that JH is gone from Standford. We need to move on and take the most logical choice.

I've moved on from Luck, but in your hypothetical situation, if Luck can't play for anyone but his old coach, we don't want a sissy boy like that anyway. That's scary to see someone hold on to a coach/mentor in that fashion. Thankfully I think he's smarter than that.

What makes me think we go AJ Green with this pick ultimately is the multiple times JR has said in the media how important offense is to the new direction of our team, and Smiths constant cries for a running mate in the papers and to the front office. They will give Jimmy Clausen one more chance with the talents of AJ Green and a better offensive staff in place and if not his butt will be out the door unless he leads us to at least 4 wins in 2011 while showing flashes as well at that point they will bring in another QB whether its Luck, Kolb who is UFA in 2012 or whomever! That being said if we go defense which i don't think we will it has to be Fairly we need a DT on defense and he has the mean streak and motor that pep always lacked, it would make no sense to pick bowers who is very similar to pep an amazing freak who has the tendecy to disappear and because Johnson and Hardy have shown progress and we traded a first round pick for E Brown and we resigned Tyler Brayton while at DT the only guy we have is Landri and he is just a solid Number 3 DT. I know we drafted Gettis and Lafell last year but with Armanti promising to be a bust you can't pass up someone who has the same skill set as Randy Moss without his bad attitude! JR will finally give smith the running mate he has been begging for in AJ Green who with the right QB and our running game could become a carter and moss like duo very quick, but if Clausen continues to fail under a new offensive staff as well we must explore other options in 2012 at QB!

Sounds good to me. Though it's unpopular, I do believe that we should seriously consider getting a McNabb, Young or someone else to help out Clausen. Of course I want to see what Cam does in the granddaddy of 'em all.

Cam is the most exciting player in College football since Michael Vick and the best player in the NCAA this year, but he is to high of a risk for this franchise to take right now! When you have the first pick in the draft you have to pick some one who is sure to be a top 5 player at their position with in 3-4 years! That Guy is AJ Green the only other prospect with as little Question marks as AJ Green is Peterson and I think he will be great! But with the tone of JR lately I see offense all the way with this pick and AJ Green is the best offensive player in this draft think Calvin Johnson in 07! Solid DT's can be found in FA maybe like Barry Coffield from the giants who is scheduled to be a FA and maybe would come here with Fewell if he gets the gig all tho I am routing for rivera! Aj green at WR is the equal to Suh at DT last year the absolute best player at his position in the draft with no doubts or arguments about it!

If we're really going to open up the offense, that means they're going to be needing more than 2 WR's - we're going to need 3-4 and with Green as our go-to guy, Gettis the #2, and LaFell in the slot we'd have a solid start. Who knows, maybe Armanti can even do something in that situation as a slot receiver.

We take Green it allows us to trade Smith and get another pick - likely in the 3rd round - which would give us three 3rd rounders (with the Peppers comp. pick) and possibly 4 depending on what happens with Williams. It's entirely possible we end up with a 2nd and three 3rds once Smith & Williams are moved.

I think if Smith has already asked for a trade as has been speculated they'll take Green. They have to. We don't have a choice there. Bowers is good, but DE is a lesser need under the circumstances.
