Free Agent Flashback-why we should trade down

You know you're right! Let's just give up. We stand no chance.....

What's wrong with y'all? The 03 Panthers were nobodies until after we made the Superbowl run. Anything can happen on any given Sunday and the right coach with the right attitude and a team with the right mindset can go a long freaking way. The 82 Dolphins were a bunch of nobodies that still hold the current record as the only undefeated team with a perfect season. No individual stars there! They were ALL freaking stars. The TEAM was the star.

And as long as the NFL continues to be a team sport, we stand as much a chance as anyone else every year. We need to do the best we can to fix our holes and play some freaking football! And STOP BITCHING!

You wanna know our biggest problem? OUR ATTITUDE f**kING SUCKS, as a fan base. The team at least kept their heads up all year long. You can be an all-star filled team like the Cowboys and freaking tank like bricks if you don't have the right mindset and team mentality.

Seriously, people have lost sight of what makes a GOOD football TEAM! You know, a supportive fan base that believes in them goes a long way too and lately we have been seriously disrespectful to the other 53 guys on the roster when all we keep talking about is the freaking next QB and how this team is nothing without that ONE guy!

it seems like the best TEAMS nowadays, with the recent rule changes and emphasis on passing, are the ones with the best QBs... look at last year. the two super bowl teams both had elite QBs at the helm. The NFL is loads different than it use to be. that's why we can't look back at the good ol' days with our good ol' boy QB Delhomme flinging the ball around and having smitty come down with it. we need to get with the times and find ourselves a Franchise QB.

Bla bla bla. Then just give up. We don't have one of those. Sorry.

Shouldn't Donovan Mcnabb be pretty easy to get? They're saying he's willing to renegotiate that new contract he just signed to facilitate a trade. Or he may be released. I think he can still be a player.

Even with a FA pickup like that i still say keep the #1 pick and get AJ Green or Nick Fairley.

Let Mcnabb start a couple of years while Clausen gets his head in the game. Get Green. Get Otah back out there on the line. Our offense might not look too bad, imo.

I'm just saying...

You guys know what the definition of insanity is right? trying the same thing over and over again expecting a different result.

trying to win a super bowl without a great QB seems pretty insane to me.

Nobody is saying that and what the OP is saying is something we have not done in 7 years when it worked for us.

Mcnabb is old and still thinks he can help a contender. He will not come here to be a mentor or a stop gap. He will go 2 a Minn, Zona type team who is a QB away not a team rebuilding.

So stop saying Mcnabb.

Mcnabb went to a 4-12 team with a new coaching staff by choice a year ago.

Player personnel-wise i don't think we're too far off in the whole rebuilding department.

The last guy that was better than average, helped us get the divisional title more than once. You don't speak truth.

Did the other three teams in the division have franchise QB's when Jake was doing his thing. Answer No. League has changed in last five years, back than Atlanta had pre-reid Vick, New Orleans had Aaron Brooks, and heck Tampa tried Chris Simms.

I agree, I'm leaning towards hoping they somehow fine someone to trade the first overall pick away with. Our biggest need on defense is DT (In my opinion). If they could trade away the pick and still be able to take Fairly and gain an additional second or third round pick this year or perhaps next year. Maybe even trade for another DT or CB, because as we all know Marshall is probably done, and we don't know what will happen with Gamble.

Then address the OL and QB in free agency, our OL is above average at run blocking, it the pass blocking that kills us. Otah will be back next year (hopefully) Kalil and Gross are proven vets although Gross struggled this year. Our main lacking offensive postion is guards. I like Wharton but injurys may slow him down. I say bring in a couple of guards who can protect the QB alittle better and hopefully that'll fix the OL problem.

As far as QB bring in a vet and it looks like we're stuck with Clausen. It takes time for QB's to develope and maybe that could be be the case with him ( I'm hoping... Have no other choice). I really liked what I saw from Shaun Hill from the Lions... He can pass the ball good enough to be a threat to allow the running game to become effective. Hill can help develope Clausen or help give us a run until were able to pick up our franchise QB.
