2011 Free Agent QB's

you don't get proven winners in FA unless they are damaged goods and/or past their prime and at which point they are no longer valuable commodities.

VY has issues that make him incredibly unattractive to most teams but we've already had this deate elsewhere. i'm not going to bother with it here.

We did and you continue to ignore the fact the guy you want has worse "issues" yet you think we should pay him top pick money.

You are so biased here man.

I should stick to lurking around the boards, but I just want to point out that Delhomme came to us via FA. Remember the good years before you spam me into the nether regions of the board.

Honestly, I don't see anybody on that list that I want to see as our guy for the future. Although many of them is an upgrade to what we finished our season with.

I'm dead set against the VY signing. I agree he is a head case and who knows if he'll go section 8 on us. I'd rather let Clausen suck it up and give us another chance at Luck next year myself.

blah blah blah. keep talking. i'll pretend i'm paying attention to you.

What else can you say? You know it's true and you're basing it all on personal preference not objectivity.

You can't rag on one kid and say he is unstable mentally, for temper tantrums, yet not hold the other guy to the same scrutiny, when he has a freaking record. You are picking and choosing rating scales here and only comparing them on what suits you.

It's ok that you want Newton, probably the same way I want Green. But when you break each one down, VY just adds up and Newton doesn't.

We shouldn't be looking for a long term solution in free agency. We need a veteran that has been a winner in this league that can provide some much needed leadership for our team. Youth and potential isn't something we need to be looking at when we go to the free agent market looking for a QB. We need a high character, proven winner that can mentor Jimmy, or any other young/rookie QB that we might bring in.

Because of that, we need someone like Marc Bulger or Matt Hasselbeck. Neither are at the top of their game, but they have been winners in this league and they can provide the leadership this team needs.

it depends on who our choice is for QB long term and the type of offense they are running.

i like mcnabb to be there for newton. more just because i think he would be a great mentor for him.

if we are going to stick with clausen, then we better at least try to play some sort of WCO and then bring in someone like hass to show him the ropes.

if it was going to be luck, my top choice would have been pennington more for his brain than anything else.

I hope to God we do not build a team around Newton. The guy has O. J. Simpson-like narcissism written all over his face.
