So do we bring Moore back?

Jake had:

Smitty in his prime, Moose at his peak, Stephen Davis at his peak, DeShaun Foster before he became a professional dancer, an all star list of who's who at the time of OL, 2 of the best DL in the history of the game, a solid LB corps and secondary, an a good special teams supporting him... not to mention good coaching and decent coordination...

What has Moore or Clausen had that was anywhere near comparable to all of that?

At best, you could argue the best RB tandem in the NFL, a couple solid OL guys that are currently underachieving, and the best MLB in the league... That's it...

Rodney Peete had the same team, and was down against the Jags by 20 the first game that Jake stepped in.

What's his excuse?

2004 Jake didn't have Smitty in his prime nor a good version of Davis. All Jake needed was 1 good WR and he was effective prior to Tommy John.

Moore/Clausen overall were not in that bad of a situation as most claim. They had to run a Fox offense just like has always been asked under him. They couldn't do it.

Clausen for most of his games at the end wasn't in a bad spot. He just played horrible.

It was the first game of the season, against a team that had all preseason to gameplan for him...

Jake was a nobody at the time, with little to no film, and a careless "throw up a prayer" heart-on-his-sleeve competitive mentality...

What about the 7-9 season before that year?

Dude, obviously either a) you never watched Jake Delhomme play or B) you started watching him play in the Arizona playoff game circa 2008.

2004 Jake < 2003 Jake... Jake peaked during our Super Bowl run...

Yeah, Tommy John made him worse, but this falls back to casual Panther fans' acceptance of Jake Delhomme being a good QB in their short history... He's all you know, so you think he is more superior than he was...

Thank you, sir, for making your logic invalid to me.

??

John Fox's first year... No Stephen Davis...2nd year Steve Smith, Wesley Walls fading, no OL play like in 2003...

I've been here since '95, playa... and I remember the days when people wanted us to get another back like Anthony Johnson...

Some people are still just Delhommers, and some people watch other teams around the league that aren't the Panthers...

Minus Stephen Davis, we still had DeShaun Foster in his rookie season, and the same defense.

Trust me, dude. I've seen a lot of QBs, and I think it's safe to say that Jake Delhomme is far and away the best QB our team has ever had. The other good one drank his way out of Charlotte.

I won't say Jake is/was elite, because he wasn't. But dude, comparing him to Moore and Clausen is asinine.

Um, we aren't comparing Delhomme years. You just compared Clausen to Jake.

2004 Jake Delhomme looks like Peyton Manning compared to Clausen.

Keep in mind, this isn't a statement about how good Delhomme was....just in comparison to the play of Clausen.
