I always think that people get too cute with the draft. Maybe we can pick up a certain player in the later rounds, oh oh oh, player x is better than player y because his blocking matches up well with our run game! Ooooooh, but don't forget that player y plays in a certain position that would be more expensive to grab as an FA!

I'm not trying to call anyone out, but to me, that's ignoring the most important thing about the draft: who's the better player? Who has the bigger chance of succeeding in the NFL? Half of the first round draft picks are busts, the likelihood of succeeding in the later rounds are even less. The Chiefs for example get cute every year and seem to have great drafts, whereas the Titans draft like 4 guys in positions they don't really need and look retarded. A year later though, it's the complete reverse. The Titans had a great draft and the Chiefs got a bunch of guys who couldn't perform. At the end the day, the draft is just an opportunity for you to get talent, so just focus on that. Who should we get 1st overall? The guy who you think has the best chance of succeeding.

coaching will have more impact on the offense than a single player in this draft not named Luck.
