they are reporting that Miami is going to retain Sparano. Means all that cash to make Harbaugh the highest paid coach didn't work.

I would think that just increased the odds Harbaugh might just stay.

Pffft. One hot college prospect is not going to make or break this team. Seriously folks. Get over this and move on. It's ridiculous. Luck wasn't going to save this team. There's plenty of other things we needed to do and can still do to improve and become contenders again.

I hear ya on this point. Part of me likes to think Luck came out today saying he was staying because Harbaugh was so close to signing in Miami or SF. So he says he is staying a week before the 15th, Harbaugh is now going to talk to Standford and if he stays then great because that is what Luck prefers and wants... but if Harbaugh still goes then it still give Luck time before Jan 15th to change his mind and go to the NFL. (I think that is very unlikely and probably not at all why Luck said he is staying today, but hey.. .it sounds good )

Luck is not coming out, just like I said all last year; why? Because once your in the NFL, that's it. That becomes your life and how you're perceived for the rest of it. Playtime over. He's a kid. He's not ready to give his life over to a city of wackos yet.

Didn't the timing seem a little odd? He said he wanted to make an educated and calculated decision, and yet he made a choice no more than two days after his last game and week before the deadline. I doubt he flip flops within the next week and I agree there are other areas that could be addressed to greatly help our team, but I understand why people are puzzled by the timing of his decision.

Supposedly, according to observer articles, his sole reason was wanting to finish school and had nothing to do with the CBA. All along it seemed the only legit reason he had to stay was the CBA. Anyway, as shocked as I was to hear TODAY about his decision, i'll be more shocked to hear if he flip flops.

Latest reports are that Harbaugh returns to Stanford with Luck. Saw it in another thread, Mort via Twitter. Still nothing set in stone.
