Tony Pike?

I know he is a little raw. But he has the height and arm strength to make the necessary throws. I think with some time and development he could be (or will be) a starting QB (somewhere). Should we invest resources into seeing what he's got? I'm tired of watching Clausen getting his passes batted down, missing wide open WR's, and ether checking down/throwing the ball away every play.

OR

Do we draft another QB. One that has great arm strength and raw talent but no consistent accuracy? Or one that might have the size, but prefers to run 1st/pass later and also has off the field issues?

Is there a QB in the draft that can be a potential Franchise QB down the road?

I'm so torn by this news of Luck that the #1 Overall pick is going to be a toss up. Who knows who we draft?

Honestly after the wounds of recent heal, I hate to say this, but Pickles could turn out OK for our system. I know he missed some wide open passes, but he was on his back on just about every play. Give him some time in the pocket before we write him off.

Pike, I think he played ok when we seen him. I honestly think he played the best out of all of them this year. What gets me is the one game that he played the 4th quarter or whatever, he moved the ball well. But Fox basically said he sucked and he didn't play him after that.

I'm not sure what plays out, but lets just hang in there with a new coach and see if that helps.

Im totally for signing Palmer or Mcnabb when they get cut and having Pike and Clausen behind either one...Pike is tall, has a hell of an arm...He just wasnt given a chance at all with Fox...

pike has a noodle arm. what have you guys been looking at? arm strength was one ofhis major drawbacks.

As of right now, neither of those guys are available. Lewis said he is sticking with Palmer, and Shanahan is saying they are going to try to mend the wounds with McNabb.

That's how I feel. I think with some good coaching and a fair shot, that Pike might be able to develop into a good QB. He has all the intangibles, he just needs the reps and game experience to polish them.

I'm terrified that the rest of the team is going to be tremendous but the QB position is going to be so awful we have no shot at being good.

seriously, Pike has an arm? haha. Maybe Pike will develop. He was working real hard to improve his arm because it was awful. but we don't go into next season putting faith in him. or pickles.

Not saying to put faith in Pike as the starter for next season. I'm just curious if you guys think he has the potential to be the future, or if we should take a shot on some big name college players, that accel in certain areas, and have faults in others.

Pike is nothing than a bench-warming backup QB. Nothing more, nothing less.
