2011 Panthers Offense: Vince Young, Moore, Clausen, AJ Green, S.Smith, Lafell/Gettis!

PantherFanForLife, dude just give it up. You made a mistake. No big deal. Everyone does.

No way Vince Young should ever be allowed in a Panthers jersey, nor will he.

Says who? The same guys who told me Jimmy was the Future of the Franchise and Moore would have no chance to come back this year?

Somebody's making mistakes alright, but so far my predictions have been pretty true.

You people are nuts. Vince Young is a wash out. He's lost it, mentally, not once, but twice now. He obviously can't handle the pressure, sorta like Delhomme's mental break... and you want to bring him here?

Sheesh.

Neither can our guys. At least this one can win regularly and consistently and have longer spans the Delhomme ever had.

VY breaks down every couple of years.

Delhomme broke down every 4 games like clockwork.

Clausen broke down nearly every game this year.

Not a tough choice.

Vince Young is a joke. He couldn't get it done with one of the best running backs in the game. He can't lead, he can't play. That is why fisher (one of the best coaches in the league) refuses to be coach the loser. But somehow we can change him? Don't be stupid.

How is he joke when he won 9 out of 11 games in 2009 and had a QB rating of 98.6 last year? He also won the 2006 Rose Bowl so obviously he CAN get it done under pressure with the right coach! We don't have to change him. He already has what it takes.

Again, he has more talent than any of our QB roster, a better record, and he is one of the possibly FA trades and one of the better choices. We don't need to change him, just not f**k him up.

In the other thread you mentioned how Moore can learn from his past experience but you can't extend the same benefit of doubt to Vince, when he has achieved quite a bit more than Moore both as a PRO and in college?

Shocked to see how people are dragging VY through the ringer here. Orton, Smith = Nothing even close to franchise QB. Nobody goes out of their way to see Orton and there was a time he lead the league in all things QB statistics.

VY is a winning QB. And he has the potential to be a franchise QB still. Ask any expert. The guy has the skills to play on this level. There is no question about that. The only question about VY is whether or not he can keep it together and be a leader. I personally think if you put him with a staff that TRULY believes in him. With a group of young talented players that are depending on him you may have a different QB than the one that you could see was frustrated and constantly looking over his shoulder at Kerry Collins in his short career in Tenn.

Young has the arm strength to be an NFL QB. In games that hes started and completed hes been among the best in passer rating meaning he has the accuracy. He also has the ability to beat you with his legs. Guys VY has some potential. Don't let the headlines completely blind you. Is he a sure bet to take over the franchise? No. Is he a guy that the Panthers should seriously consider. Given the obvious skill level and potential. IMO No Doubt.

So now JR's going to be picking our QB's during off-season? GOD I WANNA RUN!

I didn't wanna tell you guys this but JR contacted me yesterday because I sent him a negative email. He wanted to know how far I could throw a football, and if I'd be will to play QB for Bojangles chicken. I replied that I'd play for a bucket of white meat. He talked me down to a $10 Bojangles gift certificate, and I agreed to be ready for the start of free agency. So I hate to say this but... I'd say it's 50/50 that I'm the new starting QB.

^ The above is a fictional dramatization of what could actually happen if we don't draft a QB.

Long time reader, but i just had to create an account to post how stupid an idea it is to bring Young into this franchise. You dont bring a QB with PROVEN character issues into a youthful team that is struggling. Seriously, that has to be THE dumbest idea that anyone has had since this teams creation. Thank God you have NO decision making abilities.

The only on the field problems VY ever had was when a coach tried to tell him he wasn't the guy. Tells me he's a competitor. I'm not saying the Panthe's should close eyes and hang hopes on him. But I am saying that when you have NOTHING CLOSE TO A FRACHISE QB. And truly you never really have. A player like VY being available has to be something you look at VERY seriously. Because you don't get a thousand chances at landing that player.

Get Young. Draft Green. Keep Moore and Clausen... maybe even Pike. And rebuild your team. If you get an opportunity to draft a great QB take it. The worst thing that can happen with Young is that he doesnt work out. But the fact that he could more than work out makes me think you people are crazy for writing him off given our situation.
