Again, nobody ever accused him of stealing it. They accused him of purchasing it from someone else who had stolen it. And again, so what? It's an honest mistake, I've done something like that myself. Does that mean you should be willing to throw away all the talent he brings for something that tiny?

And again, not even the NCAA said Newton had any knowledge of the pay-to-play scandal. Do people on this board know more than the NCAA does?

You guys should really stick to the on-the-field concerns (which I've already admitted to) and get away from this character issue garbage. There is honestly NOTHING serious in his background and even if there was, didn't Dez Bryant have character issues too? If you want to throw away a player that scored 8 TDs in 12 games this season, his rookie season, just because you want a good godly organization, have fun with more 2-14 seasons.

I'm not saying that Cam Newton is a bad QB, because honestly, I don't think he is. I think he's a very good college QB, in fact, one of the best I've ever seen play. But, character issues are something that people need to be wary of. Look at Maurice Clarett.

man I think Cam will be a great QB but unless Hurney or JR has a sit down with him and really decides his "compass is pointing in the right direction" I just can't imagine us drafting him. I like a lot of what he'd bring to the table but you have to understand they're looking for more than just a quarterback.

It's not just one thing, it's all of it put together. He may not deserve any of it. I think the Vick comparisons are more than a bit much. Character concerns are immediate question marks and the whole fiasco with his father didn't do him any favors, even if it wasn't his fault.

I hope he gets a shot to show our owners he can be the face of the franchise but he just might not.
