The Luck Hate Is Embarrassing....

Without Luck I think we have a really good shot at drafting him next year too. We're just gonna have to wait for him. He could even stay for his senior year and we'll be right there.

As long as we can hang on to Jimmy Clausen we'll always have a chance at drafting Andrew Luck.

Here, here, I agree. We should build the team up as good as possible and play Clausen at QB. That would give everyone else some experience and Clausen would help us get the number one pick as long as he is starting.

We could come out smelling like a rose on this one while in the drivers seat. :driving:

can you imagine how much ass Luck is going to get going back to Stanford for one more year.

:drool5: He's going to be a god! I really can't blame him for wanting to live out another college year instead of the pressure of being a no 1 pick. And if you guys werent so short sighted you'd see this might work out better than ever if we have a strong offseason this year and still end up getting Luck top 5 next year. Who knows if his draft stock will even stay that high, all it takes is one injury

For anyone to actually hate luck would be irrational.

well you are talking about Panther Fan. Same Panther Fan who thought Moore was The Answer.

That being said, i think he is making a bad decision. I see no upside to him going back to school. Matt Leinart anyone?

Ok, speaking financially his decision was terrible. The risk/reward breakdown between going pro this year or going back to school a year is so greatly skewed towards going pro that he must not care about how much money he can make (which he could then give to family/charity/whatever makes him feel good).

He will be the #1 draft pick this year, period. He will likely receive one of the largest, if not THE largest rookie contract in NFL history. By going back to school another year, he risks coming into the league with a Rookie Pay Scale and/or getting injured. The chance of him making more money going into the draft next year as opposed to this year is incredibly small.

Football is a violent sport, where there is always someone one step back ready to take your place. There are no guarantees and careers can be ended in seconds. You MUST sell high. You can always go back to school. If you're smart enough to be as successful as he is at Stanford, you're smart enough to make a career for yourself even if football doesn't work out. Not to mention you will pocket a guaranteed $25mil+.

/end rant

Luck really really really really didnt want to come here. A chance to be the #1 overall pick and probably 40 mill in guaranteed money turned down flat? He obviously was very against playing for the Panthers and felt this wasnt a good situation for him. Ironic the player alot of us wanted the most, felt he was too privileged for us. He basically made alot of us on this board look like Cavs fans begging for LeBron last summer. LMAO. I actually think he made the right decision for him, he needs another year in college football to justify the levels of hype he was receiving.

For everyone who says Luck is making a dumb decision because of the money, y'all seem to forget JR said no one is getting signed until a new CBA is reached. The new CBA is sure to include a rookie pay scale. Luck wouldn't be signed until AFTER the new CBA, so there would still be a rookie pay scale even if he came out this year.

Actually he is

The rookie wage scale would have kicked in this year if the CBA was done. With no CBA done, nobody was getting paid. Thus, it didn't matter either way. Luck wasn't going to get the kind of money previous QBs had gotten (but then, his family is far from poor, so he doesn't need it).

Add in that Luck's dad has made it clear the decision had nothing to do with the Panthers at all. In fact, he's made it abundantly clear, and he really has no compelling reason to say that if it isn't true. He wouldn't have to say anything at all if he so desired.

Now a Falcon troll like KT is certainly going to revel in the misery here (that and talking about race are all he does here, anyway; he doesn't have the brains to do anything else) so it's no surprise he's happy now. Luck would have essentially ruined his ability to troll here, but now he can go merrily on.

Best advice: Ignore him. He has nothing to say that's worth hearing, much less responding to.
