The Luck Hate Is Embarrassing....

Come on guys, I've wanted Luck for two years now but to rip the kid for wanting to finish school is asinine. He's a rare breed of athlete, he has a great head on his shoulders and he's making the decision that he feels is best for him. Just let it rest and start thinking about where to go from here and stop cursing him. Who knows with Clausen starting we will probably be right back here next season except the kid will be getting his degree in a couple of months and declaring this time around....

Whoever hates on Luck is hating on Panthers fans too. After all, Luck probably didn't come out because he had a ton of problems with the Panther front office. Well, doesn't that sound like he would fit in posting on the Huddle just fine if that's the case? Blame Richardson and Hurney, not Luck. If I was a Texas/California kid with no ties to the Carolinas, I probably wouldn't want to come play here either. He just better hope Buffalo doesn't end up with the #1 pick next season.

I can't speak for anyone else, but I know I respect his decision.

However, that doesn't mean I think it was the right decision for him. Being the #1 pick as a QB in the NFL draft is much more rare in this life than getting a degree from Stanford. He's such a rare talent and the timing for him could not have been more perfect to come out right now. Yeah, he's always going be financially secure regardless and if he truly is the best prospect in a long time he'll still go #1 next year no problem. But it's an opportunity I never would've turned down.

Plenty of great CEOs and founders of companies or actors/actresses, etc were in college when they developed their company or started making lots of money doing something they loved and they dropped out to let that business and/or their career flourish. You don't just don't pass down on a job to be a starting QB in the NFL and 50 million guaranteed. I mean is he actually ever gonna be an architect? Hell no!! If he wants the degree he could easily get it after his career. I truly don't think he's going back for the degree. I think he's going back because he wants one more year to be a kid because he enjoys the college life and playing with his college teammates and his sister also goes there and everything. Plus he has no pressure on him right now in his life. That is something I respect and all, but it's not the smart decision IMO.

We all have to get over it though.

I'm annoyed at Luck, sure, but oh well. It's personal because I wanted him to be a Panther. I don't really hold it against him. I don't think he's stupid, even if I think he made the wrong decision by my own selfish standards. I don't think he hates this organization.

A new coach could change everything for us in a way none of us can predict.

It doesn't take a "once in a generation" talent to become a franchise qb and reignite fans. We'll see what draft night brings.

    • I don't think Rodgers but probably not for the political reasons I bet a lot of posters are motivated by. I just think he is not the QB for the Panthers, at all.
    • Sun Devils just scored another TD on BYU, 14-0
    • It wasn't great but  the 2022 NYG won 9 of 16 games plus a playoff game. He had a 92.5 passer rating. 15 pass TDs 3200 yards, 7 rushing TD, 700 yards 6 fumbles 3 lost.  His first season he had 18 fumbles lost 11. Wow.  Anyhow he had problems in 2023 with injuries and didn't win poo before tearing his ACL. This year, no Barkley, not good, but you know.... these ACLs take a while and it was right and he throws right so pushes off of it.  I agree it doesn't hurt to let that guy compete cheap. You don't hand him the job like with Bryce or NYG with him.  When I look at what we have been saddled with, he doesn't look worse and has the physical advantage. So I don't get the umbrage given our situation. This "No we won't settle for anything less that the best" attitude and then taking Bryce Young was pathetic and I think that attitude brought us to where we are. That's where that poo gets you. Away from Mayfield, away from Darnold, even away from PJ - just to replace them with an inferior PJ.  At the same time I am not really advocating for the guy just looking at it objectively. It could be another guy with the same story. And yes the odds of him getting it are low but the numbers and performance from 2022 are for sure better than we see with Bryce even after a season of major propping him up with better players around him. Take a look don't take a look he fails or he doesn't fail...   to instead sit here and be happier with what we have is bullshit.
